Just pulled from my pono player which is based on android (API Level 10)
For people rocking linux and want to update theyre Pono to the latest Firmware 1.0.3 put this file on your ponoplayer drive in .pono/
MIND THE LEADING DOT.

Reboot you're player afterwards and updating should start

DISCLAIMER:
im not responsible for bricks, i just pulled this file as is from my pono.
There wasnt any modification done.

Took a quick look.

/default.prop:
persist.service.adb.enable=1
ro.secure=0

/init.rc:
on property: persist.service.adb.enable=1
start adbd

/sbin/adbd binary present

Also present:
/diags/busybox
/system/xbin/su
/system/app/Term.apk (v1.0.3)
If you can find a way to start this terminal (activity com.android.term/.Term)
perhaps a Diag mode? and then start /system/xbin/su

So everything looks ok for adb. But if it is passed through USB?
You can try adb over Wifi if you know the ip address of your Pono.

EDIT: just learned Pono has no wifi...

Recovery mode? I see /sdcard/package.zip in /system/bin/recovery binary.

mhm package.zip is new to me, that would be very helpful if that works, i will try to install a rom using that location instead of internal storage/.pono/anyrom.update

I have a launcher already installed and a customized rom.
I can flash stuff using android test-key signed rom zip's

Why would they have ADB running if there's no way to access it? I have tried what I can to access it over USB, but so far no luck.

I repartitioned my internal SD card and lost access to my player. The player boots fine, but it just shows 0.0 GB of 0.0 GB free and won't prompt me to mount the disks as mass storage when I plug it to my PC, so I can't repartition the storage again. Therefore I need ADB access

nope, tried that option aswell already, adbd on the device is running tough...
i wonder if there is another unpropagated USB connection inside the pono just for debugging stuff...

old firmware file?
does anyone have a copy of a pre 1.0.6 firmware update file. since 1.0.6 the internal storage is mega slow - and have searched high and low to see if i could roll back. thanks in advance.
