Normally you would have to run a fastboot command similar to, fastboot oem unlock, but I don't see where you instructed to run any commands.
Maybe I overlooked it, went to bed at 12 and woke up for work at 4:30 lol

I change the post since fastboot oem unlock had no affect on my device it was already unlocked and many are still on kk so bump works for those devices. The post now details unlocking fastboot which many LG users already know about .

Confirmed working on my LG G3 AT&T D850, zero issues so far. I did not install custom recovery.

Greenify, Adaway, Titanium Backup, WiFi Router Tethering, BusyBox, flashify all fully working.

I can confirm this does work on D850. Rooted restored some apps with Titanium and disabled Carrier IQ.

Thanks, I thought you mentioned unlocking the boot loader in your pm, I must have misunderstood.
So this is just to gain access to fastboot and nothing further.
That makes more sense.

Thanks

Twrp will not work unless:
1. Your boot loader is really unlocked and you flash a non bumped twrp (bumping not necessary on unlocked bootloader)
2. You flash kk aboot, bumped L boot, and bumped L twrp.

No other way that I'm aware of.

Will try this later tonight, but based on what I read this will root and unlock the bootloader right? So all i have to do is either CWM or TWRP which is not bumped for the LG G3 D850. Then i should be able to flash a rom, but I need to find a not bumped rom?

I'm a noob on many of these concepts, but which are the differences (practically) between rooting with this method or installing a bumped pre-rooted Lollipop stock rom on G3?
