Hello good morning, it's a great great job, I have this same tablet and I want to give it a new life.
But I do not have great knowledge, I have already installed different versions, but I can not understand the second kernel file.
In the 20191028 version, everything worked very well for me, but the following ones the WiFi does not work, and the playstore how can I install it? I use the tablet to fly the DRON, and study.
Thank you very much and congratulations for the great work
They did not answer me, then I realized what it was like and managed to understand the logic of the kernet installations, the google apps and everything. I am very happy with my new tablet with lolipop!
Many thanks to the team for that!
Then if I can I will try to do a tutorial in Spanish for the rest of the community.
-------------
This new forum doesn't allow me to multi quote...it's kinda bugged
Well here it goes:
I'll announced here on this thread the new lineageos 13 (marshmallow) yes
About volume:
The volume level, it's currently at "135" value, out of max 140 allowed
There's no noticeable difference at 140 really.
stock uses around 128- 130
What makes stock rom " louder " is software based, it's kinda like an sound engine, used by MediaTek that obviously doesn't work here, nor will it be working since this is AOSP based ROMs (lineage)
You can try and check out sound engine mods here in xda, like dolby or something, pretty sure there's engines working for lollipop or marshmallow
Camera support:
About camera: there's no way it'll be working, it's broken at so many levels really, from kernel, up to the pre built blobs from Jellybean won't work on newer android versions, well at least without needing major hacking...
About the second kernel:
It's all explained in the FAQ
This tablet came with different hardware revisions, one of them is the screen
There's one revision that came with a screen from INNOLUX, and another revision came with a screen from LG
This means kernel uses a different LCM driver for each screen , since both drivers can't be built together in my kernel since I lack "an auto check , auto load lcd function" to put it simple, this is extremely hard to reverse engineering...
It was already a pain to reverse engineering a lot of drivers to make this kernel working...
( stock does have them both... )
As so ( as explained in the FAQ):
Rom will always come with a kernel containing nt35521 ( Innolux screen)
This is the first revision of screen
If the screen works for you, and if after you turn the screen OFF, and at the resume the image is fine, then ALL GOOD, you don't need to flash anything more.
If in the other hand, if after resuming the tablet, your screen haves several artifacts and or/ it's all black, them it means you have the second screen revision ( LG)
In this case, I provide an second kernel with a different driver just for this screen
Thanks for LOS for this old tab.
Flashed the last LOS 12 build, working so far ... but i noticed youtube seems to play using a lower resolution for clips, picture looks low res blocky.
When playing a clip via galery, it seems to use the right resolution.
I found no options in youtube app for resolution though, anyone having the same problem?
New to this forum, I found lot of interesting things, thanks to all.
I install the Lineageos 12.1 with the second file for the video and everything is working except for the GPS, when I use Waze or Google mpas it does not see it. I wnt in the seup and autorize it but it didn't work.
Anyone has an idea?
Regards
Daniel
Thank you thank you thank you .... I resurrected this tablet thanks to this rom following the step by step guide. Some apps can be forced to display landscape.
Do you suggest to use 13 or 12 for this tablet. Is a tablet used as car media center and actually I installed last 13 but maps seem really unusable. The problem with stock 4.2 was the missing of a working YouTube app, and I try a lot o them
Edit: I try this rom too, but unfortunately both two rom have bad performance and so I'm needing to move again to stock old 4.2.2 where for my use the only problem is find a working YouTube app.

Q: How can i Unlock the Bootloader?
A: Instructions for Unlocking the Bootloader can be found here
Q: After locking the screen, the screen is all black, and I'm forced to reboot, how can I fix this?
A: If you have this issue, then your device uses an different hardware LCM
( the lgld070wx3_dsi_vdo ), please use the second kernel.zip for this variant, it'll be added an second kernel . zip for people with this variant, on the download section with the ROM releases how to flash this ?
After flashing the ROM, flash the second kernel afterwards
This kernel containing the LCM for this HW variant will be always WIP, as both my units have the first LCM HW variant ( nt35521_dsi_vdo).
So my testing will be always based on other people logs
Q: Where are the Developer Options?
A: Go to Settings>About Phone, and tap 7 times on the Build Number
Q: How can i root this rom?
A: Rom is already pre-rooted with Lineage's su
--> Enable Developer Options by tapping 7 times on Build Number
then in Developer Options > Check the "root access" option
Q: Can i root with another method ?
A: Sure, you can also use latest SuperSU (v 2.82)
Magisk root, haves some issues with Legacy MediaTek Devices, use/ test at your own risk
Q: I can't flash this Rom on recovery, why?
A: You need to update your recovery in order to flash this Lollipop Builds
Q: How can i flash the new recovery?
A: If you already have an custom recovery installed:
Download the new recovery zip
flash the new recovery
reboot to recovery again
If you don't have any custom recovery installed:
- You can extract the "recovery.img" from the .zip
- Open an terminal
- Boot to fastboot mode, and type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
then reboot:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Q: I Love your work, how can i thank you?
A: You can press the "Thanks" button, and if you wish, you can pay me a beer
I have installed the 12.1, 13.1, 14.1 versions of @superdragonpt's ROM. All has a screen bug; after turning off screen, when i turn back, it becomes garbage, and cannot get the regular display back. When i touch the screen, i can hear the tablet works.

How to Install:
1- BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP, All will be WIPED!
2 - Unlock bootloader instructions here
3 - Flash New Recovery (with newer kernel for Lollipop)
4 - Move Rom & Gapps into external (or internal) storage
5 - Full Wipes ( recommended, wipe All -Preflash)
6- Flash Rom & Gapps (gapps are OPTIONAL)
After ROM is finished flashing, there will be a prompt for
To fix "SU"
--> press "NO", otherwise it'll mess some permissions and wifi (among other things) won't work properly
No camera support (broken in my kernel, and likely broken in Lineage as well)
Auto rotation (accelerometer broken in my kernel)

Thank you for your efforts in developing for the ME173X! I am looking forward to use your new Lineage OS 13 on my Tablet because I have problems to install new browser versions or messengers like the newest Threema on my old 4.2.2 stock firmware (parsing error, probably because Android 6 is required). Do you open up a new topic for the LOS13?
Ye I'll open an topic dedicated to los13 when it's ready, so far it's almost stable, just need to address some random reboots and some missing symbols from some functions...
Wifi , BT, gps are working alright, system seems stable (excepting the above issues)
We finnaly have video playback working up to 720p
( YouTube is finnaly great to watch, in comparison to LOS 12.1 that it's capped to 360p) on the YouTube app
Multi-window is working as well the new adapted storage ( new MM feature)
Etc
Also I adress some fair amount of ROM optimizations on top of lineage source , mainly torwards memory consumption, having 1gb of ram is the bottleneck, so all RAM one can save is extremely important
Hello there.
So I installed the latest version of this rom but Wifi is not working. I've followed the guide and selected "no" at the end of the flashing procedure.
Any help please?
Thanks.
EDIT: Solved. Had to factory reset from the Android menu. Now it's working!
Hi
Due to the recent coronavirus, I have several colleagues that are retained in China and Taiwan, so we have double (or triple) the work now.
I have zero free time now to do builds and research of bug fixs.
There's been some progress that I made back in December.
