Hey guys! I think i have found a solution for the battery problem.
First of all, thank you, M.A.D. for creating this amazing ROM for that great phone. Can't thank you enough!
Now to the battery problem. I recently just replaced the battery itself on my Metal. Before it jumped from 60-70% straight into 0% and then shut down. When i did change the battery, the phone was absolutely fine. (I played back full hd youtube video with full brightness screen and it went gradually from 66% to 5% over about 2 hours and 10 minutes)
What i did notice while changing the battery was that the battery connector must be pressed really-really hard to properly close. I didn't do it the first time and i had same "drop to 0%" problem with the new battery.
So it seems that the connector, probably together with heat expansion over the usage, will play enough to create that kind of problem.
So just before you throw that otherwise perfectly fine phone to the bin, look inside. Maybe it's an easy fix. (Or not so easy... the battery connector is on the bottom side of the motherboard)
Btw, if you are still throwing that phone away, contact me. If postage is cheap enough and you don't want too much for the phone, i can take care of it and give it a new life.
Creepy idea. I also replaced my original battery and drop occurs only on MADOS. On MIUI 9 with stock kernel and on stock firmware there is no battery drop and I was not doing anything with connector since replacement took place. My vote goes for kernel and the voltage it has programmed there. Is there a way to check this out, some tool maybe?
Remove one of your sim cards.... and install a microsd card

Yesterday i've install masOS rom 7.1.2 on my Ulefone Metal and it's a really fast rom and very more usable then Lineage which was full of bugs (screen, youtube, network ..etc...)
So, first, i would like to congratulate the team for this job !
Next, i have some trouble :
- network detection (wifi,3G ) which is really really really slow
- i have problem of battery Yesterday my phone indicates 64% of battery and suddenly it stop ... black screen ... so i've plug it to change and then it indicates 1% of battery .... :/
- Other problem, this morning bluetooth is not detected in my car (yesterday it was ...)
If you have some solution about it ...

You can try Oreo if you want and report the bugs you notice there. This ROM won't get an update anymore.

Installation Instructions:
- Download ROM from M.A.D. Facebook
OR via xda DevDB
- Download OpenGapps nano or pico from OpenGapps
(choose Arm64 and Android 7.0 / Android 7.1 / Android 7.1.x -Depending on the rom build you downloaded)
- Download BeansGapps MINI from BeansGapps
(choose the MINI Package)
- Boot to recovery
- Wipe data if you are not coming from AOSP N / madOS already
- Install rom
- Reboot to recovery again, and Flash your desire Gapps
- Reboot

We have already added support for some variants, besides the initial "rev1".

Enjoy!6For everyone having battery drain issues, please try the test kernel I attached. Looks like the proximity sensor blocked the device from going into deep sleep which I fixed now.
