On stock 8.1 ROM with GO apps preinstalled? Try to install Open Gapps Pico from TWRP. But be aware that it may not fit unless you delete preinstalled stuff: https://github.com/opengapps/arm/rel...o-20190514.zip

I just noticed the Cubot J3 bit - what are you doing here?!?! But my advice should still work as long as you have a working TWRP. Removing preinstalled apps may be a challenge but there are plenty of debloating scripts around if you do not want to do it by hand.

Hi, I did post the link for that in the other thread - AOSP 8 GO ROM is the stock ROM.
There are generic GSI's available for AOSP8.1 and AOSP9 at https://github.com/phhusson/treble_e...tions/releases
Use the "system-arm-aonly-" variants. The "vanilla" has no Google apps, and the "gapps" has Google apps (non-Go) included.

What about RR Oreo? Is phhusson's RR GSI okay?
