Yes, I'm using the latest official TWRP 3.2.1 on both devices.

There is no different, files are same. You can check md5 always. I was guessing that maybe a problem.

n00b question - just to be sure:
So, if I use AOSP Extended and I've already flashed firmware before flashing custom ROM, is it safe to download firmware from your script and flash it in TWRP "on top" of existing ROM?
Or could it be use only when flashing clean installation of ROM?

can you change this line :
package_extract_file("firmware-update/splash.img", "/firmware/image/splash.img");

to :
package_extract_file("firmware-update/splash.img", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash");

otherwise it will not installed..., on this line (from untouched updater-script) :

unmount("/firmware");
mount("vfat", "EMMC", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash", "/firmware");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/splash.img", "/firmware/image/splash.img");
unmount("/firmware");

twrp will not install the splash and just skip it and report an error on twrp log, i think only stock miui recovery can handle this command, so i guess you should change the command with the actual node or path.

Which device?
As I explained, the tool uses ardadem script to auto-write the updater-script from original rom's one.

It appears Mido's firmware version 8.1.25 on AFH is corrupt, indeed. I downloaded it just now, couldn't open it with my file manager. The one on BB is fine, though.

There's something wrong (?) in the updater-script for Mido's (HMNote4XGlobal) firmware package. In the firmware package made by someone else, the line for the last firmware image is:

package_extract_file("firmware-update/sec.dat", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/sec");

But in your firmware package, it is:

package_extract_file("firmware-update/sec.dat", "/firmware/image/sec.dat");

Would it not flash since it's a path different to the other firmware images?
