Even MediaTek didnt advised it to be used due to an issue with PLL registers...

This is MediaTek COMBO chip ( WiFi, BT ..)

This is your touchscreen IC ( actually bad)

Your on Android KitKat, mediatek running Kernel 3.4.67...

Hi, @superdragonpt

As you seem to know a lot about the above chips, do you have the datasheets for any of them and if you do could you post them please?

I've looked all over and can't find them anywhere.

Thanks,

It's my job
I work for a big OEM, we also use mtk devices in our mid/lower range devices.

Unlike most OEMs we comply with GPL, and I take that very seriously.

What exactly do you need? The nand datasheet or something else?
I'll need to ask if I can share this publicly, perhaps it's also available in the internet?

That cm12 is a port from a friend of mine, Alex , that's the build for wiko Rainbow mt6582
While I made builds for the wiko Darkmoon also mt6582

With a stock kernel KitKat 3.4.67 one can build even los13 MM with some hacks on sepolicy...
Cheers

Hi, @superdragonpt

Thanks for the reply.

The datasheets for the MediaTek COMBO chip and touchscreen IC would be good as I can't find then online.

I only got this tablet as a cheep way to try and learn about ARM tech and android, I love all tech and like to learn/find out how it works.

Also any ideas on why the EMMC/RAM shows as 4x bigger than it is, when OTG USB flash drives show the true size? (i.e EMMC shows as 64GB when its 16GB)

Thanks,

Info 2 Tablet update!
Working ROM Port! (Mostly)

Hi, All

So i was looking at this tablet again and found a Android 6.0.1 ROM for MT6582 that had KitKat ROMs, I downloaded it and made a port to test and it worked other than the screen rotation being off with the touch panel. Also it has no Google Play Store unless you flash gapps and only basic apps to use it, so I flashed gapps pico and the XOSP Apps zip I got from the ROM page as well.

So it boots slowly to start and has no on-screen NAV buttons, but you can turn them on in setting under XOSP part. The ROM is also for a phone and not a tablet so everything is a bit big on the screen and sometimes on reboot it shows the boot animation and then goes black, don't know why but if you wait sometime it starts working and other times you have to power it off and on again to fix it.

One odd thing I found with it was in setting under storage it shows a small SD Card as corrupted, it about 100-500BM in size and can not be formatted. (Some info apps show it as bigger than others)

I have added a download for a buildprop.prop updater as you may need to change the last value to fix thr screen rotation.

Please do not PM/DM me about this port as I don't check messages often and a reply to this post will be seen a lot quicker and by others that may be able to help you as well.
