I installed v6.0 Dolby since even during Android Pie, this version was the only one which didn't crash or caused any issues.

Okay so I decompiled the custom skin apk and the one which comes bundled in mod and notice nothing extraordinary happening with skin version apart from the custom colors, and drawables. The reason why it works is cause when you install the apk, you're overriding and installing it as user application. The apk has write and read storage permission inside the manifest but since it's targetting older Android API, there is no method written which should/will ask for user consent on whether to grant or deny the permission and is intended to work as a system app. Android itself has a method to let the user grant permissions from settings if the apk which they install doesn't have the consent dialog but has permissions inside the Manifest so users can still enjoy the app/s which weren't updated with latest SDK. So when we install the custom skin apk, it installs as user app and the storage permission can then be changed from settings, thus it works.

So you need not have to install the custom skin apk, simply copy the apk from system/priv-app/DsUI to your SD/Storage directory and install it. Once done, head over to settings and grant storage permissions and it will work fine.


Currently running on OnePlus 6T Android 10.

Edit: Installation Process -

1) Flash Selinux Mode Changer in Magisk and change the status to permissive
2) Flash Dolby Magisk Module
3) Reboot
4) After you're booted into the system, open any file explorer which has root access (i.e Root explorer)
5) Head over to system/priv-app/DsUI and copy the apk to your SD/Storage
6) Now install this apk (it will override the current one)
7) Once done, head over to settings>apps>Dolby and grant storage permissions.
8) Run the app and enjoy.

yup works on Pie Roms.

i did every step but still my dolby digital plus crashes and says DDPlus keeps stopping
im on OOS 10 (android 10)
using se linux switcher app(it always get back to enforcing from permissive)
help pls!

can u help me to install audio mods? only dual speakers (stereo) mod is working for me
and rest like V4A , Ainur jamesDSP , Dolby , DTS ultra not working for me
i tried to change se linux to permissive but it gets back to enforcing
and also i dont know about init.d injector coz whenever i try to flash init.d injector.zip it causes bootloop
help me pls
