Would be nice to know exactly where you're getting that from.

Have the ROM creator patch whatever ROM it doesn't work on, except LineageOS Official (if available) as they're NOT going to add in such a hack. Tell them to look at Nitrogen OS's or SkyDragon's commit history in frameworks_base for it, named along the lines of "Status Bar" or "Pixel Launcher".

The stupid Android One version of Messages snuck its way back into OpenGApps again, which takes priority of installing since that version minimum target is Oreo, and affects Oreo+ ROMs, whereas the proper ones with working dark mode minimum target is Lollipop.

Workaround for now is to either build OpenGApps with the Oreo Messages removed, or don't have Messages install and instead install it from the Play Store.

To fix the Pixel Launcher issue universally, I think Open GApps should include generic RRO overlays on Pie. Look into PixelExperience/vendor_pixelstyle for those. I also has other uses e.g. making Markup as the default screenshot editor app, Google Wallpapers as the default wallpaper picker.

Here's the stock android overlay APK from PE. (Of course, those values that should be device specific should be removed)

I'll look into it later today and test myself if I can get the APKs to build as I've never messed around with anything RRO.

Ah. Thanks! That button takes me to the description of the package and lists stuff not on Google Play: https://github.com/opengapps/opengap...i/Nano-Package

Dialer Framework, Package Installer, and Trusted Face (Face Unlock) are a few items one cannot download from the Play Store.

I have no expertise but is this possible to change big apks with lite versions of Google apps? I tried to search this question but didn't find so asked here the same.

resize your system partition... Or yknow, use pico gapps, there's literally no reason to use any other higher package on a device with limited system space, also if you use a custom rom then you might wanna remove some bloat from your rom (system/app and system/priv-app) but make sure you know what you're doing, if you don't know what some apps are don't touch it
