Hi All,

I recently upgraded to 1.8.3 and tried running an .mkv movie file on my android.
I got the error prompt saying "This audio format (AC3) is not supported"
The video is playing without any audio output.

Can you please tell me if this is a new issue or does any additional codec pcack needs to be installed?

MX Player Version 1.8.3(ARMV7 NEON)
Android 6.0

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Can someone help me pls. Upgraded to v1.8.3 and tried downloading the codecs on the link you provided, saved it in sdcard and now when i try to use that codec, i couldn't even find it or it wouldn't show on the mx player directory. I'm not sure what I missed on the process. HELP!! :)

Can you make sure that downloaded file's extension is .zip...?

Yup, I can see the zip file in file commander but when I try to search it on mx player directory, it's not there.

Seems that you are using your sdcard as adoptable storage. In that case your external memory is formatted to f2fs/ext4 file system & will be mounted under /sdcard in order to use it as Internal Memory.

If I am not wrong your file might be located at /storage/emulated/0/android/media

You can use custom codec to restore the AC-3/DTS support. If you have any difficulties in downloading, leave a reply on custom codec thread. I will assist you.

So my mistake was not using your link but searching everything on my own. So for anyone else facing the same issue here's the link again - Install the custom audio codec. http://xdaforums.com/apps...pport-t2156254 - then click on downloads - select your codec and click on 'view download' .. Thats it
