The new 700 series of snapdragon should have native support to h264 10-bit currently the only ones with hardware support.

MX Player check the supported profiles for each system decoders & enable hardware acceleration accordingly.

But, some devices may not expose the support. In such cases, You can just enable it on HW+ Video Codecs. It will force try H264 High10 videos on both HW & HW+. But, will not work if the system decoder doesn't support h264 10bit profiles.

Kindly keep in mind that force attempting Hi10 may lead to a crash on some devices. For your safety, just revert it if it's not working.

Hi, so I bought the OnePlus 3T (Snapdragon 821), but I'm still having stutters when playing this file. It doesn't play in HW, it plays in SW.

Here are some screenshots:

The file I'm trying to play is from https://nyaa.si/view/967799.

Is there anything wrong that I'm doing, or is there anything I can do to fix this?

Any help is appreciated.

Edit: This file also doesn't play in HW. https://nyaa.si/view/1026450

Because your device doesn't support hardware accelerated decoding of YUV444 colour space. So, the only remaining option is to use SW decoding.

Is there any Android phone out on the market that supports this?

Media type: video/hevc
Color Formats: QOMX_COLOR_FormatYUV420PackedSemiPlanar32m YUV420Flexible YUV420Planar YUV420SemiPlanar
Profiles: 0x1(0x10000) 0x2(0x10000) 0x1000(0x10000)

OMX.google.hevc.decoder
Media type: video/hevc
Color Formats: YUV420Flexible
Profiles: 0x1(0x1, 0x10, 0x100, 0x1000, 0x10000, 0x4, 0x40, 0x400, 0x4000)

Details pertain to LG Q6 (Snapdragon 435). What else uncommon info can be derived from above? Like most ideal settings for MX player?
