Kindly any one with verified information can verify that Nokia 8 which has chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 can play 10-bit hevc video with hardware decoding or not?

We need also a list of smart phones that play 10-bit hevc video streams.
Missing this feature might be a deal breaker for many.. as this technology is getting used widely recently

I can not verify that model, but all the devices powered by snapdragon 820 821 835 845 855, exynos 8890 onwards, Kirin 970 onwards (I've not tested a a device with 960) and probably even mediatek from x20, have hardware support for hevc 10bit. After android 7 I've yet to find one of these chipsets that cannot play a 1080p hevc video in mx player HW or HW+ mode (in HW I've encountered some problems but never in HW+). The only exception was a Sony xperia x performance (snapdragon 820) on android 6.0.1, but as soon as I updated to android 7.0 it was all resolved.
This only pertains to high-tier SoCs. There is little information about the mid-range (snapdragon 6xx and equivalent ones).

Hi, i have a tab a 2018, it doesn't support HW decode for hevc 10 bit and SW decode is a bit laggy many times. I wanted to know if a s5e support it or it's basically the same

Hi, would it be possible to maintain eg a Google sheet containing lists of chips and what they support?
e.g. for the Qualcomm Snapdragon SD636 of my Redmi Note 6 pro, I have:
- With MX Player and HW+ decoder, flawless decoding of HEVC in [email protected] ([email protected]), [email protected] ([email protected]), [email protected] ([email protected]), and of VP9 in 1920x800 (no other clip handy)
- With the linked app from the first page, OMX.qcom decoders for hevc profile 0x1, 0x2 and 0x1000, and for vp9 profile 0x1

For SD425, only hevc profile 0x1/0x2 supported, and indeed only [email protected] can be decoded. Main10, or [email protected] or more cannot be decoded. This is a curious device, because MX Player reports HW decoder for Main10 (fails) and not for VP9 (but works). The VP9 decoder seems to be OMX.google...

Also, site demo-uhd3d.com on the FP is dead and should likely be removed. No idea where to host samples.
