First of all, sorry to bother you with naive requests, but I'd love to learn more about rooting my phone.
So here is my situation: I have a Huawei P8 Lite (ALE-L21) with european firmware. It is pre-2017, so Android 6.0 and EMUI 4.0.3 running.
I successfully did the following actions yesterday, following instructions here https://rootmygalaxy.net/root-huawei...ow-6-0-update/ and here https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8l...d-6-0-t3307686
- Unlocked Bootloader
- Installed TWRP v3
Fortunately, I did a full system backup from TWRP (7200MB!), and full backup of media, apps, etc... prior to everything thanks to HiSuite.
I then downloaded SuperSU from https://forum.xda-developers.com/app...-mode-t3286120. I got the v2.82, yet the tutorials said to use v2.64?
Any way, I thought this would work too... Then:
- I did Wipe > Swipe to a factory reset
- I flashed SuperSU v2.82 with TWRP
- I wiped cache/Dalvik as instructed
Unfortunately, and that is what I was afraid about: bootloop occured. I tried everything (wipe Dalvik cache, /cache, /data, whatnot) in TWRP, but it didn't cured the bootloop (or I didn't wait enough, 2min each time...)
This is where I did a full restore from TWRP (7200MB, 45min of pure anxiety) giving me a fresh working device, but of course not rooted.
So my questions are then: is this version of SuperSU incompatible with my device, thus bricking it? Where could I find a zip to flash safely without fear of having the cure another bootloop or restoring eveything?
Thank you in advance!
