Before this driver fix, Windows 10 could recognize my D800 as an MTP device, and I could copy files to and from my phone and PC. I had Java Version 8 Update 131 (build 1.8.0_131_b11). My path to adb.exe and fastboot.exe in the "platform-tools" folder was in my Win10 environment variables. Yet running "adb devices" in an administrator command window resulted in a blank listing of devices. This is now fixed after running LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0.exe, which did not require a reboot. I obtained this driver at https://forums.att.com/t5/Android/USB-Drivers-for-LG-G2/td-p/4249909.
