Note: This thread is only for Mediatek devices.
Your phone must be rooted for this.

This permanently changes the MAC address.
So go to Settings->About Phone->Status->WiFi Mac Address and note it down or take screenshot before doing this ;)

EASY METHOD INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download and Install this app: ChameleMAC

2. Open it and grant it SuperUser access.
(No problem if it says that phone is not MTK)

3. Enter a MAC address or generate a random MAC address(recommended).
Then click "Apply New Mac" to spoof it.

4. That's it.!!
If you need to confirm, go to Settings->About Phone->Status->WiFi Mac Address

If that doesn't work, try the following for MT6582:

ADVANCED METHOD INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Install Hex Editor

2. From File Manager (Root), open the file:
/data/nvram/APCFG/APRDEB/WIFI

3. Edit the bytes : 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09 to your desired MAC address :)

That's it..!!

Hit the THANKS Button if it worked for you!!! :)

Well, it worked for me.
You can see the screenshots. That proves it.
I tested in Stock Lollipop 5.1.1 (Sprout4 MT6582)
I have no idea why it's not working in your device.

Anyway, edit it manually using Hex Editor.
I'm sure that'll work :)

I guess it doesn't work with the current custom roms due to current selinux config.
Yeah, I have no choice but to use an HEditor at moment :p thanks again for sharing dude..

No, there's no way to get the original MAC address.
Anyway, you won't be needing the original MAC address for any reason.

In the second method (mentioning the requirement of root and hex editor) the MAC ID will change to its original value on reboot. For permanent change follow the above steps in the second method. The move to /data/misc/wifi/sockets/ and then delete the file named wlan0. Then restart the device ( wlan0 is responsible for the reappearance of original mac id ). Upon restarting another copy of wlan0 with the mac id entered using the above given steps is nvram is created changing permanently the MAC ID. If u need the original mac id again repeat the steps again. Pls note *THIS PERMANENTLY CHANGES THE MAC ID* valid only for mediatek devices

Verified using HTC DESIRE 526:cool:
