Thanks to the SlimRom Team many users have started to create their own unofficial builds for personal use and for others to use, experience and enjoy with their respective unique setup. This thread will provide a compilation of a few SlimRom Unofficial Builds in one thread; in order to provide a quick glance of the various SlimRom updates and a forum to ask questions regarding builds or general question. If you are building some form or version which is based on SlimRom and you would like to be added pls just send me a pm.

For most of us, the love for custom ROMs and building had it's foundation in Slim.
We love Slim. Period.
There is no amount of thanks we can extend to the Slim Team, not just for their work but for the open-hearted nature to help anyone.
If it were not for them, in all probability SBC would never have existed.
Shout out in the loudest voice to Kufi, dankoman, jubakuba, josue, Griffin amongst the others for everything over the years.

Change is the only Constant in life & we have reached a junction where it is time to spread the wings some more.
We understand the need for folks to learn & use other popular 'brands' of builds.
In our eyes, it would be disrespectful to the Slim team to have other ROMs posted in a section that was intended only for Slim.

This had been in the works for a few weeks now & Garry has been belting out some cool banners.
So everyone say hello to a newer and more mature - A B C
Slim Builders Collective is now Android Builders Collective.
And we have a new home.
We have moved one level in the forum, and now reside alongside Slim in the root of the Custom Roms forum.

The move was thought out, as we did not want to move where there would be tons of new folks jumping in and derailing the essence of this thread.
This was intended to & will always remain a place for people to learn building, cooking, having fun etc.
We thank all the senior guys here for maintaining the same culture that we started off with.
This will still remain the same. Everyone is welcome, but we do not want this to turn into the other gazillion mud slinging, disrespectful threads that XDA unfortunately has a lot of.

That being said, we still love Slim. And always will.

Hello Everyone. This post will contain my builds.

A little about me. I've been a member of XDA since 2008(as you can see on the left) Started with a HTC Touch and released a few things for the phone before moving to android. I've been with android since the I9000 and have built custom roms/kernels since then(not really original work just modifying for my needs). In general i love everything about technology and am starting to look more at android app development. So here is my build.

I build for the Nexus 6P. Builds now based on PureNexus. I will try to post at least a build a week maybe more as time permits.

Builds will be here:

Link Removed by request.

Going to be back with a new name(and base maybe) in the near future.

Sync to latest PureNexus Sources
Removed Demo mode from dev settings

Made the jump to Nougat.

Based on PureNexus
Added kexec_hardboot to kernel
8-bit sounds(of course)
Moved a developper setting out of developper setting to Display setting called Screen Width see commit For description. Basically allows for LCD density change.
Rooted with phh's superuser.(install app from playstore)

Added MSM_HOTPLUG v2(latest from yaosp)

Changed base to PureNexus-Legacy(6.0.1)(Will require clean install)
Rooted with Phh's Superuser(Install app from playstore)
8-bit sounds
LCD Density changer(pulled from Slim source)

Initial build
Nothing fancy (getting my feet wet again) just slim with some small goodies

ABC rom Oreo build for Nexus 6P:

ABC rom 8.0.x

Download latest release and read changelog for Angler:

Installation and kernel:

- Get the latest bootloader, radio and vendor.img from 8.x factory images.
- If you come from another rom do a factory reset and wipe system/caches. If you come from the previous build, a dirty flash should be enough.
- After flashing the rom zip in twrp, flash gapps (Beans Gapps mini are recommended), then reboot and enjoy.
- Recommended kernel: the built-in one or Flash Kernel by @nathanchance:

PS: if you have problems, call A-team or clean flash.

For other devices, check other abc builders posts in this thread.

Some goodies:

Hello all! Just let me give a big thanks to the community

I currently only build for the Nexus 7 2013 (Flo)

About my builds: My builds are essentially PureNexus with a little bit of Slim thrown in.

Current Builds : Based on PureNexus with mods courtesy of @ezio84. See changes here

Commit List, and Local Manifest if you wanna build for yourself.

Builds can be found here

And to any of those looking to get into this whole building thing, let me just say if you can flash a ROM you can build one.
For me it started out not wanting to wait for the new weeklies. And I've slowly learned to add a few things here and there.
Slim has an awesome community ready to help out, just like they did for me.

What I'll post here will be basically the Slim stock with some cherry-picks of features I like and that are not (maybe yet) merged into the rom itself, plus as many optimizations as I can - as long they do not harm the rom stability in any way. Features and stability, i.e like the original one.

Thanks to the rom's developers for this wonderful rom, to commit's authors for sharing their work with the community, to @Garrykd for the beautiful logos, to @ralpheboyo and to the Builders Collective, especially to @ezio84 who first introduced me to the intricacies of git, for giving me the opportunity to share my fun with others. Kudos to all of them!!!

SlimPop v1.0f (Nexus 5 Hammerhead)

Version 1.0f

- Substituted the stock kernel sources with ElementalX (v. 2.10) by @flar2
Sources for lp5.0 and lp5.1 are here:
- ROM compiled with UberTC 4.8, Kernel compiled with UberTC 4.9 (Tnx @Cl3Kener)
- Doze: substituted the sensors library to activate Ambient Display (Tnx @myfluxi,
@Yank555, @kagwind)
- Added IT translations to Doze, Dialer etc but Profiles (I'll do that too)
- Bunch of AOSP and generic bugfixes
- QS: Added Profiles, Screenshot Tile
- Option to show four tiles per row
- Slim Hardware Key Rebinding are back

A nandroid backup / clean flash is highly recommended, a wipe cache is MANDATORY due to the change in the toolchains.

Known Issues
* Trying to add Torch as a lockscreen shortcut will result in Settings to break, not yet fixed.

- Powered by SuperSU (included in the build)
- Compiled with latest UberTC 4.8.5 and Optimized with -O3 Optimizations
- Disabled a lot of debugging stuff into frameworks
- Support to SykoPath RRO - Layers Type 1 and Type 2
- System Profiles by CyanogenMod
- Chamber of Secrets and Slim Shortcuts (WIP)
- System-wide Torch service (fixes the torch/camera bug)
- Themed Material Black - All that white is gone (almost)
- SELinux set to permissive on stock kernel for Viper4Android
- Removed AudioFX and MusicFX from the build
- Viper4Android v2.3.4.0 added to the build
- Longpress Back Button to kill the current App
- Longpress Recents Button to go to last used App
- Customizable Quick Tiiles/Settings
- Customizable Navbar Height with fixes
- Customizable Network Speed Indicators on Status Bar
- Power Saver Mode: add 10% and 20% values

- DocumentsUI: Standalone File Manager + New Icon (Tnx @XpLoDWilD)
- CM Call Recording feature Tnx emancebo, ported to Slim by @ezio84 (works only when using the speaker)
In the dialer settings, under the call settings menu, you can set the audio format. During a call, tap on the three dots at the top right to start or stop the recording. In the dialer history expand a call entry, tap on Details and there you can play the recording. The files are stored under /sdcard/CallRecordings.
