How did you back up? I cannot unpack it

i use flashify to back it up and saved it on google drive and then zipped it before attaching it here

Try installing the OTA with the recovery in your firmware flash file

It's the easiest guide. If you can't follow it, then lollipop is not yet for you.

Root :
the desire 820s can be rooted easly :
Just download king root from this link : http://www.kingroot.net/
and use it to get your phone rooted

Install CWM Recovery:
1. You must have your phone rooted
2. Download the recovery here : cwm-recovery-htc_desire820s.img
Then you can :
Use flashify to flash it
or using adb :
1.Copy cwm-recovery-htc_desire820s.img to your device
1. get the < blocksize > using this command :

2.Install <cwm-recovery-htc_desire820s.img> from your phone using this command

Note: <root directory> refers to sdcard1 for phone memory or sdcard0 for external memory card

1.Download SP Flash Tool and Extract it .
2.Download Stock Rom and Extract it .
3.Navigate to your extracted downloaded rom , you will find the build name.zip "example... 1.20.707.2.zip" , So extract this zip
4.Navigate to your extracted sp flash tool folder and open flash_tool
5.press the scatter loading and navigate to the build extracted zip in step 3 , select MT6752_Android_scatter.txt "" See the Pic Below

6.shut down and connect your phone : and press download

Method 2 Flashable Stock rom zip "WORKS WITH CWM AND STOCK REOCOVERY"

2.boot into recovery
3.Wipe every thing if you want a clean flash **OPTINAL
4.flash the zip , wipe data factory reset , enjoy

NOTE : BEFORE FLASHING STOCK ROM OR RECOVERY USING ADB I RECOMMEND YOU TO DOWNLOAD HTC SYNC MANAGER TO INSTALL YOUR DEVICE DRIVERS PROPERLY

@Gibz97 @Mohammedyaser I hard resetted my 820s and it never turned on, neither charging nor I'm able to flash OS using SP Flash Tools. HTC Service Centre says Motherboard is dead and its replacement will cost 12000 INR (approx $200). But in contrast to his saying, I'm able to connect it to my PC and it is detected too by it, but after selecting files in SP Flash Tools and clicking on Download and then connecting the phone the red bar goes 100% and after 20-22 seconds it shows Error 4032: Enable DRAM Failed. I have tried the volume buttons too but no help....

Sounds like a drivers issue.
