Hi, thanks for the new version. Just 2 little things, 1. device settings are lost when updating adbLink to v3.0, 2. when you have 2 connection setups for the same device, lets say one is KODI 1 with the IP 10.0.1.5 and the other SPMC 1 with the same IP 10.0.1.5 and you connect to the KODI 1 profile it will be shown as SPMC 1.

adblink

So when I try to backup Kodi it will be backup SPMC instead and so on?

Currently, there's no upgrade routine for a new install. If you're running 2.07, you can copy your database file (adblink.db) to wherever you installed adbLink 3.0.

I confirm your issue with multiple records sharing the same IP.

Current workaround: use a single record and prior to doing backup/restore/edits etc:

1. Click edit
2. Choose your media center from the presets (Kodi,SPMC,Other)
3. Save the record.

Thanks for pointing this out. I'll look for a better solution.

Having a few issues with the new update. Hoping someone can shed some light.

1. Kod17 failing to install
2. When setting up queues to isntall apk's to my multiple devices. Only first apk in list gets installed

I am running off a macbook / wifi / with adblink 3.0. I have been able to install kodi17 on a few of my devices and today it fails. I have tried 1. Downloading an new apk, trying to install 16.1jarvis, rebooting macbook, rebooting fire tv stick, rebooting modem/router. No luck and always getting the failed to install apk error.

Last Log is here :

adbLink 3.0

* daemon started successfully *

Installing /Users/CarlG/Desktop/KODI_INSTALL/kodi-17.0-Krypton-armeabi-v7a.apk

process time duration: 113 seconds
Connected to 10.0.0.30:5555
process time duration: 130 seconds
error: device not found

Is this a wifi issue? I see error device not found at the end of the log

Also once i get past this i can post a log for multiple apk installs to multiple devices but has that been an issue for anyone else?

Device not found is almost always:

1. Device IP is incorrect. Try to ping your device IP. This could also be a router issue.

or

2. The device doesn't have ADB debugging (developer options) switched on.

Installing multiple APKs (either sequentially or in parallel) works w/o any reported errors. Feel free to post/email a log.

Tried another laptop hard wired in and it works ok. I believe my laptop is dropping signal as it connects but will not successfully install the apk.

Thanks for the help! I am going to work on the multiple apks. Your app is amazing, going to support the work for sure!

One more questions, do you know if there is any way after installing the apk to go around having to open kodi for the first time before restoring from adblink. Can you just push the files over? Or slide in an xml doc?

You can install Kodi, then directly restore an adbLink backup. No need to run Kodi first.

adbLink 3.1 released
adbLink 3.1 changelog 05/01/17

The file manager is now root-aware. Perform common file management
functions (copy,move,rename,mkdir,etc) on the /system and /data
partitions if your device is rooted.

When upgrading adbLink versions, data is preserved. Tested
with adbLink 2.04 and up.

The database and log files are now stored in a standard
directory located in the user's $HOME. Mac users can
now run adbLink without admin privileges.

The progress bar activity indicator is back.

Devices can be accessed on an ad hoc basis: double-clicking
a USB serial number or entering an IP address on-the-fly
allows interaction with the device w/o first creating
a device record. In this case, Kodi defaults are assumed.

Notification messages: toast-style messages or normal style is
now a preference, with normal set as default.

A global folder location for files copied from your device
is set to your system $HOME. Changed to a global location of your
preference, or overridden by a per-device preference in a
device record.

Keypad now uses device address as dialog title

Log filename defaults to kodi.log or spmc.log depending on
configuration

New video for adbLink v3.1 will be available later this week.

Am pleased to see that you are continuing the development of this incredibly handy and versatile utility. It's been my Fire TV file-movement go-to app for a long time.
