Just bought it so i cannot really do a comparison on battery life as for all the rest look at the attached pictures.
note the standard is Assembled in Vietnam vs. the extended in Korea
Alpha is 113g with the standard vs. 125g with the extended
Alpha is 6.75mm with the standard vs. 7.95mm with the extended
