Has anyone tried the new Japanese baseband radio yet? If so, any significant improvements?

It seems that as long as you don't have any network drop issues, you don't really need to update the baseband? I'm using the Korean one and it seems fine.

I tried. But switched back XXLA2 as I got more data drops after flashing the japan radio.

I can see a big battery drain

Here is the new radio from the yakju 4.0.4 update, both in fastboot format (extract the zip) and CWM format. I haven't tested them out, but they should work fine.

Thanks. You saved my life. I recently flashed SlimICS and then the phone could not detect the sim As my only usb cable are gone (I charge the phone on a Duracell Mygrid) I was not able to flash a stock rom with odin or toolkit..
But then I found this cwm flashable zip and gave it a shot, and now my Gnex are up and running again

I am using the new radio.

I notice no change on battery.

I thought it was getting H (3g) on areas where i used to get E, and was happy, but then i got E or no signal on places i used to get H or E.

Then news about network upgrades and issues appeared... so... all the same ?

I'm on straight talk(att) in east tax and I've been trying out different radios trying to get a better connection/speed. I'm using trinity kernel with CPU min set to 691.
I started with uglc1 and it started out blazing then fell flat and every since matter which radio my connection is not great.
I see where is says clearing cache helps but it says to use fast boot which I have 0 experience with. Which cache do I need to clear on cwm..cache partition or delvik? I use getril every time I change radios.

Technically you don't need to clear the cache, but sometimes it seems to help. The cache I was talking about was the cache partition, but it doesn't hurt to wipe your dalvik cache either.

im new to flashing radios, is it done in the same way you would flash a kernal/rom, do you need to wipe anything?
im currently running xxkk6 radio which is part of my hybryd b10 maguro rom, with glados v1.34 kernal. is there a newer radio out? will it effect how the rom runs if i change the radio? thanks in advance for your help

I was looking again at the end this page:

and seems (maybe a typo ??? ) that for the 4.0.4 is suggested the bootloader PRIMEKL03 (instead of the latest PRIMELA03)

someone have a download link for it (PRIME KL 03 )? in which ota/image was contained? does it exists? I googled but can't find any download link anywhere..

I have acquired an ITL41F yakjuux build (by searching the Internet) and I could provide a RIL for the UGKL1 radio if someone tells me where the RIL's located.

EDIT: Efrant was faster.

I flashed the UGLC1 baseband and Ril last night and my signal has never been this good.
I am now getting service in places that I never have before.

I was on XXLA2 with Tmobile USA

Flashed and tested. Seems as if this RIL keeps the phone in GSM/CDMA (prl) mode. It would not allow me to set the radio to WCDMA Only or WCDMA Preffered. I had to revert to XLAA2.

How did you verify the ril? If you downloaded a yakjuux ITL41F ROM and compared it and it is different, then I'll believe you. Otherwise, sorry, but I'm gonna go with me being right.
