Why do you have to delete the recovery folder before flashing? I can understand that in method 1 you have cwm installed so you don't want it to get overwritten. But in method 2 you have stock recovery so isn't it better to let it get overwritten with a new version?

You can leave it there. (I just copied pasted from method 1) It makes no difference because the recoveries are the same, but you're right, if the recovery image has changed then it will flash a new one .

I flashed the 4.0.2 deleting the recovery and everything is perfect.

I got an assert fault around my radio. I believe I flashed UGKK7. And requirements, radio-wise, for running these updates?

Thanks,

I'm not 100% certain which radio it looks for, but regardless, it should have updated you anyway, no? I believe it flashes the update before it checks/flashes the radio.

Try turning off the assert check in CWM. If that doesn't work, go into the updater-script file and remove the assert yourself.

The assert is:
blah blah EMMC:/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/by-name/radio blah blah

I'll turn off asserts and see how it goes....

EDIT: Same as below - no help from assert toggle. I'll manually update the script.
EDIT2: Modified script worked. Now on 4.0.2. I notice that things a don't swipe as fast on this version. Between home screens & in the app drawer, things lag a little compared to 4.0.1.
EDIT3: Ah, need to re-root after applying, also.

disabling assert checks doesn't work.
Now I've deleted every assert in the updater script and the update runs fine.

Great!

Thanks for sharing this!!!
