Well you say you have to wait sometimes.
GTN7000 is almost a decade old at this point.
Of course it's going to be slow... It sounds like you installed too much software. I have roughly 10 apps installed additionally to the built-in stuff of the ROM and it works.

I originally meant turning off AudioFX (as in "to disable audio effects"). If you uninstalled it by force, reflash the ROM, disabling and/or removing apps in /system will always lead to problems in the long run. It was viable back in the day, but not in Nougat anymore.
EDIT: I suggest doing so as AudioFX has made problems on all of my devices so far. The one on my Find7 with LineageOS 16 still has the same bugs as the one included in exactly this ROM here. Same on my S4. And phones transmit audio, no? /EDIT

If your lineageos phone is slow, give privacy guard a try. And about the crashes: I don't know, man. Maybe your hardware is faulty? Wouldn't be that big of a surprise with such an old device.

And the webview is more or less mandatory with a ROM that is not being updated anymore. I can't seem to find the original article, but look here, this article explains it again: https://www.xda-developers.com/late...ed-renderer-process-and-in-app-safe-browsing/
Android WebView is a system component for Android allows Android apps to display content from the web directly inside an application.

Starting with Android Lollipop, Google decided to distribute WebView as an independent APK updated from the Play Store every six weeks. The goal is to deliver critical fixes to the users quickly, as the service had seen some serious security conundrums. The newest version of the app brings a couple of important security enhancements as well.

Hope I could help you a little bit in some way.

EDIT2: Have you tried what I posted here already?

I also activated go mode by adding
Code:
ro.config.low_ram=true
at the end of /system/build.prop (using "$ adb shell" etc.) and experience greatly improved performance. There seem to be very minor UI glitches in the notification area and the battery indicator (it has to be selected circular battery icon in the status bar, other battery icon themes don't show up), but I don't mind them for a faster response time. They are solely of graphical nature and don't affect function.

I figured some people might benefit from this information, so I'm posting it.

Great ROM, thanks!

/EDIT2

Hello Hipunk,

the replacement of the phone app has at least reduced the number of crashes, thanks!
Next I will test the other tip (Go Mode).

Best regards

This is the NightOwl LineageOS 14.1 Android 7.1.2 20180824 built from source for the Galaxy Note 1 GT-N7000/GT-N7000B

This LineageOS 14.1 based ROM is tested and running stable for all day use.

Don't install supersu (it will give you a boot loop!) (the default rom internal root is working. you need to enable root in the developer settings)
Adoptable storage (formatting a sdcard as internal storage) is not working

How to Install:
If you are running a custom Kitkat, Lollipop or Marshmallow Rom:
1. Copy Rom + Google Apps to your sdcard.
2. Boot into recovery
3. Factory Reset + Format the /system partition
4. Flash the Rom and Gapps.
5. Reboot

The steps to install it from an stock samsung rom are:
If you have already an samsung 4.1.x running you can skip step 1

1.flash N7000ZSLR1_N7000OZSLR1_BRI (or any other other 4.1.2) stock rom using odin
2.Copy Rom + Google Apps to your sdcard.
3.flash PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120702299) to get cwm recovery by using odin or mobile odin
4. boot into recovery
5. flash this kernel http://xdaforums.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20863 to get an updated recovery
(this step will make your old rom unbootable stuck in the n7000 screen but you can boot into recovery with press and hold "home" and "volume+" buttons and power on your phone)
6. you need to reboot! your device now to recovery
7. you are now in the updated recovery and you need to do a factory reset + format the /system partition
8. you can now install the rom and gapps and reboot your device

Howto Repartition your device and install this Rom:
Savin Vasudevan has written all the needed steps to repartition your device to add more space for installing Apps
(Please replace the files in Step 16 with the newest ones from this Post for cm14/android7)
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B9I1tLEDTBGPMk1obkd3VGpqWGc

Lanchon has made a tool to make it also possible to repartition your device in the recovery after you have installed the rom without loosing your data
https://github.com/Lanchon/REPIT

Here you can find 2 example zip file for the n7000 and some instructions how to use it with NightOwl
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=66341193&postcount=2071

Updating If you are running an earlier NightOwl cm14.1/lineage14.1 version:
1. Copy Rom to your sdcard.
2. Boot into recovery
3. Flash the Rom (you dont need to reflash the gapps if you update from an earlier nightowl version)
4. Wipe dalvik-cache and format the /cache partition (This will not delete your apps or data)
5. Reboot

How to enable root:
1. Go to Settings-About phone and tip 7 times on Build number to enable the Developer options
2. Go to Settings-Developer options-Root access and set it to Apps and ADB
Don't install supersu (it will give you a boot loop!)

hello everyone, by chance someone has the last file in the description on the front page the flashable recovery that removed the isorec of the TWRP Recovery? the links on the front page do not work, wrongly it was flashed and you can no longer remove it to return to the original recovery of the Bauner rom. If you know how to remove it, could you suggest the procedure? The TWRP does not appear only if you return to Stock but as soon as you try to install the Bauner ROM it returns. Thank you.

Hello you !

I personally never used this file when my Note 1 was working but here it is!
I couldn't be any more help, when I had a problem I used to take a full wipe firmware and reinstall it with Odin. I don't know if it's still possible to find any, I think most of the links are dead. In case of need, maybe I can see I still have the files on my computer (it depends on your model).

The trick to find the files is to search for the file name on Google, find the links, if they are dead, try to see if there is a backup on archive.org (backup of the file page). I found the file on androidfilehost.com, bauner stored all the files there.

Have a nice day !

thank you for the help you gave me by posting the file, thanks also for the links of the two sites it is for weeks that I have been looking for the pit files to repartition the Note unfortunately in the original thread the links are gone and without repartitioning the phone it becomes impossible to flash the latest custom roms. I hope luck helps me, again thanks for the help you gave me you were kind.

In case anyone ever stumbles upon this thread and is looking for a download link, I found a link here: http://aol.zanoza.lv/1/6/9/1/7/Nightowl-lineage14.1-20180824-n7000.zip

I found it by following a previous recommendation to check the web archive for the link in the main post: https://web.archive.org/web/20200323185608/https://xdaforums.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=30282 and which after searching for the specific file name (Nightowl-lineage14.1-20180824-n7000.zip) led me to this site: http://aol.zanoza.lv/1/6/9/1/7/

When downloaded, the file hash does indeed match the md5 as seen in the archived site: 2331e0f73870cde4c854067b2de2a59a.
