I have this i9001 and I want to flash it with something that makes it moderately useful. I used to had CM 12.1 which is Android 5.1 and the problem is that its too damn slow. I tried disabling high end graphics card, limitting apps and background processes to 4 but its just too slow. I have to say that the battery life is very good with this, in one night goes from 98 to 91%.
Now, to make it faster I tried CM 11, which is android 4.4.4, its certainly faster but drains the battery like hell. I tried the same, limit process and services to 4, disabled wifi, mobile data, obviously disabled location but it drains the battery. In one night goes from 99% to 70%, totally idle.
So my question is, is there anything else? I prefer 5.1 but its too slow... Could be any modified kernels out there to solve this? The same with 4.4, is there any kernel or something that helps with the battery life?
