1)As a Regular App:-
Install it normally like other aps

2)As a System App:-
Copy in system/app using Root Explorer
Set permissions as rw-r--r--

Tryed on checkrom v6:

first istallation method doesn't work...
second one ,yes...

i have installed traslucent versione but i don't see any difference between base version...
