To be fair, it wasn't quite obvious from the first posts of this thread that Forced Update Mode would override such settings. Perhaps note it in the 4th post of this thread, under RunOnce, rather than the vague wording that Force Update sets Install mode instead of Update mode.
I do like the feature (it reminds me of what I was doing at a glance before I locked my phone), but it"s something that would be better off Opt-In instead of Opt-Out for new and forced update installs. I have seen a few instances myself where the blurring doesn't work and the lockscreen is fully see-thru. Why risk that? But if you feel it's not a legitimate security issue, then you might as well move it out of the Security area in Settings.

I didn't implement this function by myself, neither put it in security settings. This was done by Omni, and ArchiDroid 2.X follows
every Omni's commit, also this one.
I don't need to agree with every Omni's move, for me this setting could be in lockscreen options, not security but I'm not here to decide where it should be.
Also personally I didn't catch a situation when my screen wasn't blurry on the lockscreen, so perhaps you were running some outdated version or something. ArchiDroid will always come with my pre-tweaked settings after install, you don't need to agree with my settings, that's why I'm not forcing you to not touch them, instead, I give you an option to keep your settings as long as you don't full wipe, which by definition wipes your data
.
Forced update mode is made for "updates" to pre-tweaked settings (ADMANY & DBUPDATE RunOnce's components), for example recently I added an option to download MMS'es without mobile data turned on (in 1.X), this requires forced update mode, and that's the reason ArchiDroid asks you if you perhaps want to restore settings back to ArchiDroid defaults.
Notice that I physically
could modify android settings pack to make some options on/off by default, but I didn't want to do so due to compatibility with 1.X, which uses closed Samsung base and doesn't offer a recompiling.
