Gapps - use any ARM (not ARM64) 6.0 variant. Do not boot the ROM before flashing these, or you will have to factory reset. For Now on Tap, use mini or higher

Older builds

  • 720p front-facing camera recording

Build 4
  • Fix 'optmising apps' on every boot
  • Merge screen mirroring fixes (hopefully it'll work, I can't test)

Build 3
  • Fix RIL brokenness from last build
  • Maybe fix sim lock - hopefully someone who knows their PUK can confirm

FAQ

Root?
CM ships with root, enable developer options and look in Settings -> Developer options -> root access

Doze?
Doze needs a "significant motion" sensor (which uses the accelerometer) to function. The S3 doesn't have this at the moment, and its accelerometer is probably not low-power enough to implement it. At the moment, doze doesn't work, but I might investigate it at some point(tm)

Stock browser crashes when downloading?
You need to grant it permission to access storage in Settings -> Apps -> Browser -> Permissions

Google camera crashes?
Use Google Camera from the play store, not from gapps

Bootloop?
Try wiping data, cache, dalvik, system and re-installing. Some people have reported that dirty flashing over CM 12.1 works.

Builds should start tomorrow (2015-12-16 UTC). Download them from here. You should be able to dirty flash over these builds, but if you do run into any issues, factory reset.

Alright it's time for a new build.

    • Android 6.0.1 ("MMB29M")
    • 720p front-facing camera recording
    • fix p2p wifi (screen mirroring should work now)
    • fix network dropouts on hang up

Remember to wipe cache and dalvik after flashing!

Oh, and on a few of the bugs that have been reported:
    • GPS doesn't work, I don't think it has in any of the public builds, I'm trying to fix it.
    • Facebook/Messenger not installing? Actually a feature - Improves battery life significantly (just kidding)
    • Still get optimizing apps on every boot? Wipe dalvik and cache
    • Still getting bugs that have been fixed? Wipe system, dalvik, cache and reflash ROM+gapps.
    • Bootlooping? Make sure you flash ROM and gapps *directly after* each other. Otherwise you will bootloop.

    On custom kernels:

Do not use any kernel other than stock. I will not be responsible for the consequences, nor will I provide any help when your device breaks.

No, I will not help you build $kernel, beyond linking to the CM sources. I will not help you when it bootloops. Those are your problems if you want to maintain a kernel, not mine.

    Build 5 - 2015-12-09

Ok, so here's a new build:

    • Fix init.d (should fix camera for the most part, etc.)
    • Fix 2G/3G toggle
    • Enforcing SELinux
    • Doze enabled :p

Note that double tap to wake/double twist for camera options are still in settings, even though they don't work - this is a CM bug.

    Note before upgrading:

If you're coming from a 12.1 or 11.0 build and you haven't factory reset (doesn't matter if you've installed any builds of this ROM beforehand), you'll need to run the following command after upgrading, or some things might not work: (you need to have root enabled in developer options)
    Code:
    su -c "restorecon -R -D /data"

    Build 7 - 2015-12-12
