Your actually right. I previously had a lower powered phone (1.5GHz dual core with 1GB RAM) and found that the interactive gov acted as a min-max; ie it basically only used the max freq when the screen was on, and dropped to the min with the screen off, when not in deep sleep. I have actually now switched to the conservative governor, and have yet to notice any negatives. I expected that it would fail when the screen was off and I had music playing (I have Viper installed which is a serious equaliser), but no, its been rock solid. In previous ROMs on another device I included another conservative governor called Scary. I was a little surprised I didn't include it in this ROM. Maybe the next build.

The fact your phone gets hot is telling you something is causing your phone's CPU to run hard. Chances/my guess is that its something you have installed on top of the ROM. The other day I charged the phone to 100% (Normally I only charge it up to 80%) and booted the phone, but did not use it for a few hours. When I finally turned the screen back on, the battery screen estimated 5 days left of usage; an overestimate at best. I personally know nothing about Amplify, so take the following with a good pinch of salt, I have found Greenify with heavily modified options to really do the trick. ie Greenify (ie add) EVERY app that you don't need running with the screen off (ie I do not Greenify my music player or my equaliser or the stop watch/omniclock). I also set/select the "Ignore working state"& "Ignore background free for most apps.

Have you checked your battery usage screen after a few hours to see what is actually consuming your battery?
Have you tried the ROM without installing any apps? ie just the ROM and GApps and restoring any SMS / phone call history?
Have you tried the "powersave" Gov? it runs the CPU way low, probably making the phone VERY laggy.

I found reason to drain and heat! It was faulty working app... Uninstalled that and phone is smooth and cold.

No bugs for me on RR diamondjohn's ROM. Bluetooth, GPS, torchlight, camera, mhl connection, infrared, and sensors are ok. The ROM is battery friendly as well and comes with a lot of resurrection team advanced parameters.
I don't use NFC so i can't say.

Only trick in my country, modem was not set on lte/umts by default so i only connect on 3g network at first boot (i did a clean flash with RR-N-v5.8.5-20180221-ks01ltexx-DiamondJohnDroid ROM).

Moreover you get the last AOSP updates.

Yeah, I thought it was weird that it defaulted to 3G . I just went into settings, "...more", "Mobile Network settings" and changed the "Preferred network type" to LTE (recommended)". So its not specific to your country.

Yeah just made the same steps to have 4g network for good. I thought you made that setting for your mobile network operator in Australia ;)
Thanks for your time anyway!

I made a dirty flash of your last build, and it's perfect. I just needed to re-flash majisk form recovery due to my dirty flash?

Nope, its either in the device specifics I use (ie @kyasu device tree as used for his CM14.1 build), or in the RR code somewhere.:confused:I have done NO changes which are specific to Australia, and also no changes specific for me. If it was specific for me I would of removed a bunch of stuff such as eMail and exchange and Omniswitch and MusicFX (I use Viper) etc etc etc...

I made a dirty flash of your last build, and it's perfect. I just needed to re-flash majisk form recovery due to my dirty flash?
Its not perfect, the fact if you DO click on "check for updates" it crashes instead of simply removing the item from the menu bugs me a little.

As for Magisk, you should NOT have to re-flash Magisk, its already in the ZIP.:confused:I know I didn't need to do it, but I did notice an update to the manager came through just after I had built the zip:mad:

I do not own or use a Bluetooth headset and as such cannot test/debug it.

I would suggest:
1. checking if it works on a LineageOS 15.1 ROM?
2. Checking it works on an official Nougat RR ROM and device? easiest to find another devices forum and ask them.
3. Getting logcats, and reading them
4. Search the Play Store in case there is an app that enables your wanted functionality.
5. As a long shot, try the previous build. I think I saw some changes come through just before I built it, that may or may not have broke it, while fixing something else

    Whats Working
    • I assume everything that is also working in an official RR release.
** NB: Bluetooth works for me **

RR ROM includes Magisk for root access and the Pixel Launcher & Trebuchet.

    Bugs
    • I assume everything that is also NOT working in an official RR release.
    • I have had issues with applying substratum theses specifically on the playstore
If you find any other... then report them here., and I will duly ignore ;)

    Procedure
    • Download the latest GApps from OpenGapps
    • Boot to TWRP
    • Make a nandroid backup, and ensure this backup is not on the device itself
    • Wipe Data, Cache , System & Dalvik-Cache
    • Flash the ROM Zip
    • Flash Gapps ARM -> 7.1
    • Done - Reboot to [System]
    • Wait...
    • Wait...
    • Enjoy!

    App changes

    Changes regarding apps.

    1. Have replaced the unsupported/old/crippled CM File manager with a brilliant file manager called MiXplorer, thanks to the dev @HootanParsa, so go visit the thread and pass on some thanks/credit. The thread is also very active and a great spot for support

    https://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1523691

    2. By default, RR added a menu item in settings called "Performance" which only became visible if you installed Kernel Adiutor from the market. I have by default installed the app KA-Mod-Reborn, which does the same things, without the monetization found in KA from the market. It also does not have a bug I found in KA whereby changing the CPU Gov broke the hot-plugging of CPUs. Please visit the thread to extend some thanks to the dev @Ali Haide 001 for allowing me to do so, and also visit it for any support.

    https://xdaforums.com/android/apps-games/approot4-0-ka-mod-reborn-v18-t3714105

    3. I have replaced the default Deskclock with OmniRom's deskclock, so thanks to OmniRom for that

    4. I have replaced Eleven (the default music player) with Vinyl Music Player (Eleven has always been buggy for me with a large music collection) Originally I used Phonograph (from Omnirom), but it was missing a few features (such as a dark theme) which is in the OpenSourced GPL'd Phonograph by Kabouzeid, and Vinyl also has crashanalytics disabled. Thanks to Adrien Poupa for confirming he is happy to share :good:

5 De-bloated the RR OTA Updates (NB: It crashes if you try and select it, so simply dont), and the RR Statistics

    6. Also includes the latest (as of 20 Feb 2018) Magisk and Magisk Manager

    7. iOS EMOJI's

    FYI: new build planned

Our device god @kyasu has made some updates to the device trees, so just to let you all know, I plan to do another build. I'm just recovering from one of the member disks in my RAID array failing , and also wanted to let any dust settle in the Lineage 14.1 thread, in case there were any issues with the changes.
    3
New build is up! see original post for download link.

    The "big" changes are:
    • Switched to Vinyl music player. It enables a dark theme and removes crashanylitics (ie "anonymous" bug & usage tracking)
    • Disabled the well underused ZRam
    • Updated the source to include the latest bug fixes/changes

The attached screenshot shows an improvement in my benchmark scores, which was a test I did to check that removing the ZRam did not have a negative effect. I think the better result is probably just a random thing more than an actual improvement; but I'll take it;).
