I was very skeptical about trying a AOSP MIUI version in this phone but in the end I am glad I gave it a try. Yesterday night I did a clean installation of this ROM just to see how it felt like and I was immediately surprised with the first results. I ended up configuring it fully and now I am using it as my daily ROM. Here my impressions so far:

PROS:
1. MIUI goes KitKat!
2. Stability: Very solid. So far no crashes or FC's.
3. Smoothness: The GUI feels very smooth and responsive. The animations also add a much more fluent flow. However when using Apex launcher the TouchWiz variations are a tad snappier in my opinion.
4. Kernel: ROM worked out of the box. No need to flash an alternative Kernel. In my experience this is quite rare.
5. Battery: No heating or battery drain problem. I've been using it only shortly but my feeling is that battery life is just what you get with your usual MIUI ROM.
6. OTG Cable: Working fine. I could read data from a 128GB USB pen drive without problems.
7. MicroSD: Recognized without problems. I have a 64GB external card formatted with exFAT and the system handles it beautifully.
8. Less Xiaomi: There are a couple of design adjustments that make the phone more functional for non-Xiaomi Account users.
9. YouTube App: 1080p video is now possible. I never managed that with any MIUI previous versions.
10. SIM Lock Boot Problem: Solved! With previous MIUI versions the phone would be stuck in "Unlocking SIM Card.." after a reboot if a Pattern Lock was activated.
11. Phone Calls: Working so far. With the latest official KitKat Shiro version (4.11.3) I had massive audio problem with making phone calls.

There is really nothing negative I can say about this ROM. Everything just works! But just for the records here are some very personal points:

CONS:
1. Smart Cover: This TouchWiz feature is of course not available in this ROM. If you own a Flip Cover be aware that the phone will no longer respond to it. I have one and I'll try to find a third-part App to emulate this function. I didn't try any yet.
2. Viber App: I cannot change chat background.
3. YouTube App: When streaming down 1080p content the system struggles

It will work but without Bluetooth and WiFi if Phil2sat repack this kernel

Hi Luistro,

I've tried your 4.11.26 version from 4.10.18, just dalvik, cache and system wipe, no data wipe.
So far so good, few things though, google map location now only works via GPS, it can't estimate location using mobile cell tower anymore.
Also, I can't disconnect vpn once it's established, I'm using Astrill by the way.

Thanks anyway for the update.
Hopefully you can bring it up to the latest V5 using L720 base.
