Report: I found a minor bug
When I charge my phone and reboot to recovery, the battery indicator has + icon that means it is charging
After that, I disconnect charger and the + icon is gone
BUT when I plug my charger again, the + icon doesn't appear

3 questions:
1. If my phone still KK 4.4.2, is OK to use this version of TWRP?
2. I use previous version of TWRP, will this version have compatibility issue(s) with previous version? (i.e can not restore of previous backup file from old TWRP etc. etc.)
3. TWRP a lil bit laggy on my phone,...sometimes very lag. Is it normal? any user have same experience with me?

Thanks in advance......

Yesterday I used twrp 2.7 to backup android 5
And restored it, using twrp 3.0

I don't know if 2.7, 3.0 made a difference. Anway, 3.0 recognized the 2.7 backup :)

there is a question turning in my head since i discovered the backup using twrp.. if we don't want to loose our apps and data.. can we just backup data and restore back after flashing a custom rom? instead of downloading everything back..? I mean can we wipe all and keep data ?

[RECOVERY] [3/14/16] TWRP 3.0.0-0 - TeamWin Recovery Project

[N]ation Team is proud to present TWRP 3.0.0-0 for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Exynos!

    backupname.png

    Introduction:

Team Win Recovery Project, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

    Key Features:

Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
    Onscreen keyboard
    Decryption of /data
    Easy selection of internal/external storage
See changelog below for new features

In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe cache & dalvik, and run a backup.

    @Fevax
Hi sorry to bother you I can not get into recovery, when I do the screen does not respond, the only way to make it work is to flash MM stock again. I tried setting the auto reboot option but when I enter the recovery the screen is dead, it does not respond. I did wrong as they said above, wrong flash autoroot. But following your steps I do not have success

    Install Samsung USB drivers
    Install Odin (I used 3.11.1)

    Enable USB Debugging on phone

    Turn off phone
Go to download mode (VolDown+Home+Power), press Vol Up to continue
Odin should say "added" and show com port
    Uncheck "Auto Reboot"
    Click PDA and load recovery.tar.md5
    Flash it

Take battery out, then USB cable out
    Press VolUp+Home+Power button.
    You should be in TWRP.
