I do not understand why this thread has more than 300 pages for a not working Google Camera.

Yes, I have. The night sight in it is quite good, but hdr is broken. And the app is a bit unstable.

Just tried this, and unfortunately it keeps freezing in both front and back camera modes on my S7 Edge, and experiences a fatal error each time when trying to access the Portrait mode.

For the devs, or those who have this app working: Is there an option for a non-mirrored front camera preview? So that when you are setting up the photo, the image you are viewing on the screen matches the image produced when you take the picture (non-flipped)?

On my Samsung S7, running LineageOS 16.0 / Android 9.0 rooted, I have the problem as described in the first thread:
"-if the app hangs during processing a HDR+ or portrait shot, memory leak (500-600 MB) could happen. If it is leaked by GCam, a force close in settings can eliminate it (a swipe away is not enough). However if it is leaked by cameraserver, cameraserver needs to be killed i.e. a reboot is needed for non-rooted users. Memory leak could be observed by looking at 'cat /d/ion/buffer' using adb or root shell. The Pixel 2017 config is more prone to memory leak."

The problem occurs each time I try to make a picture with HDR (default setting) or make a portrait photo. The problem: I don't understand the solution. Is there a more detailed describtion for not-adavanced-users? How do I do a "force close in settings".

Thx for help!

The front cam photos are often very much overexposed if HDR+ is enabled. Sometimes they work just fine. Is there any way around this problem other than switching HDR+ off?

I have installed the latest version v.8.2 from this thread on a Samsung Galaxy S7 (LineageOS 16.0) and on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (LineageOS 14.1)
On the S7 Edge it works perfectly.
On the S7 the message "No free space available" pops up and the app can only be closed again. Of course there is enough space left on the device (free space left on internal storage 12 GB and on SD card over 200GB).

Is there any workaround to fix this for the S7?
