I have two wireless pads connected to authentic samsung adaptive fast chargers. The Anker charges my S8 in fast mode all the time.

The yootech charges in standard mode even though the light on the yootech is blue, meaning fast mode. It is green in standard mode, like when i set my nexus 7 on it.

i came here to see if there was a reason, and now as im messing around on it i got the phone to go into fast mode on the yootech. i slowly slid the phone around on the pad to find the areas where it would stop charging, and when i slid it back to the center it said fast charging , for the first time.

one other thing i noticed is that fast wireless said 60% 1hr 9 min to full, and on standard it said 1hr 22 minutes. That's not much of a difference.
I swear i remember the difference between more on my note 7 but its been a while.

so i guess on the yootech i can get it into fast if i move it around and let it pause a few times.

edit: when i first set it on the yootech it will say regular wireless charging. If i slide the phone over until it pauses, then move it back it goes to fast charging. I can get it to do that every time. Odd.

Just noticed this issue with my Choetech T811C-S. Never tried it with another phone, and don't have another USB adapter to try it out with (only other adapter I've got here is a wired micro adapter, and the pad I've got takes USB-C.) Not sure whether I should wait a bit or just grab a refurb Samsung or Anker.

I'm using a Pleson Fast Charge. No problems here. Back of the S8 is quite warm though.

Both my Samsung ones work for me.

I have the flat and the old dock one.

Have you guys tried different outlets? Outlets do tend to go bad and that could be the culprit even if you are using a surge protector.

I have the Samsung EP-NG930 , with a EP-TA20JWE and I get the wireless charging paused problem on my S8+. I have tried multiple outlets with multiple cables. It just doesn't work.

My EP-NG930 does NOT work with my S8+ (SM-G955U). However, it does work with my note 7 (SM-N930P).

Has anyone tried laying the phone sideways? On my official Samsung desk stand type wireless fast charger, I get the "wireless charging paused" message if the phone is standing up, but if I set it horizontally on the charger, with something underneath it to space it up about a half inch to where it's centered, it charges fine. My thought was that due to the different shape the placement of the coil within the phone is out of alignment with the charger when standing upright.

I bought this Samsung charger from amazon.com and it says made in Vietnam, has Manufacture Date of: 2017-03-17.
The last 4 digits of the S/N on mine are: MCIS

so far I used the charger twice for two nights in a row since getting it.
The first night I put my S8 on the charger pad and let it charge overnight. The blue light came on and I went to sleep. Woke up the next morning and the light was green and the S8 was fully charged 100%. It was warm to the touch.

The second night I put my S8 on the charger pad and let it charge overnight. The blue light came on and I went to sleep. Woke up the next morning and the blue light was still on blue, the S8 said it was only 85% charged. It was very warm to the touch.

In both cases above, I had a clear Spigen Ultra Hybrid protective cover sleeve on the S8 which I also purchased from amazon.com.
So I don't know what happened the 2nd night charging that failed to charge it to 100% overnight.
I am thinking because I have the cover on the S8, it weakens the inductive charge magnetic field (for sure) but maybe the 2nd night I did not position the S8 properly over the charging pad coils.
I will give it another charge tonight and see if the wireless charger fails again or if it works 100%.
My guess and hope at this point is that I simply did not position the phone in a good inductive coupling position last night.
We'll see after a few more tries with the thin cover on my S8. If it still acts whacky, then I will try without the cover on my S8 and see how that goes.
