This Thread will be focused towards Changing Carriers/Rooting on the Snapdragon S8 SM-G950U!

I have purchased a Factory Binary version of the S8's firmware which can be downloaded below
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120727548
In order to flash this firmware you must have the original version of Odin which can be downloaded here
http://odindownload.com/SamsungOdin/

1. Extract the zip for the firmware
2. Open Odin
3. Click AP, and select extracted MD5 file
4. Uncheck Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time in Odin
5. Open Settings and enable Developer Options
(Settings-->About Phone-->Click Build Number 7 times)
6. Enable USB debugging
(Developer Options-->USB debugging-->Allow USB debugging)
7. Boot Device into download mode
(Volume Down + Bixby + Power)
8. Press start and wait for Pass

Phone will reboot into recovery mode. After it is done doing what it is doing in recovery mode the recovery menu will appear, select reboot device and you are done!

This firmware does NOT have Play Store or Play Service's installed and is considered to be a test build, you may experience crashes, device lag, etc

Apps must be installed via ADB until a dev or myself can install Play Store and Play Service's without crashes. Within this Firmware DM-Verity is disabled as well as Force Encrypt, according to my kitchen, SElinux status is set to permissive, and USB debugging is automatically enabled.

Hoping a dev or someone can find a way to achieve root or carrier switching, I am willing to test on my device and assist in any way possible, love to learn more about rooting, android development, etc.

Hope you all enjoy and remember flash at your own risk! Lets get this device rooted guys!!

Update 4/28/17: Achieved SElinux permissive on Stock Firmware

Oh, ok. Didn't realize that. So does this overwrite the carrier info? Or is that untouched?

As of right now there is no way to overwrite carrier info, we are working on it though. That reserved comment is going to be where i put all that is known, been tried, etc with carrier switching just a little busy right now

My build number is SM-G950A and my firmware is G950USQU1AQD9. I am quite familiar with the concept and process of rooting but I have never had an opportunity to actually get into it. I was wondering if my device is compatible with this firmware. If so I am fine with testing so long as there is a reliable way to restore my phone if something were to happen.
