When you hand your phone to granny to take a photo of you, can she get the job done? Rate this thread to express how you deem the Samsung Galaxy S8's camera software. A higher rating indicates that the software is easy to use, fast, uncluttered, and inclusive of advanced features for when you need them.

There is no option to add a shortcut to Google Photos on my S8 - not in the google photos app, not in the settings of the camera.
I can't disable/uninstall the gallery that Samsung is providing.
I can't set Google Photos as a default gallery app.

This is the ROM which I don't wanna switch to a custom one because I don't want to lose some of the great options that this ROM provides.

But unless I get an answer to how to eliminate these problems, I will have to custom rom it a bit.

on a custom ROM (batman ROM 1.5.0) is very close to stock and with it you can delete any system apps, i deleted samsung gallery app and installed a 3rd party app as gallery option.

Samsungs have one of the most intuitive, easy to use interfaces.

My uncle (in his late 60s) learn to use a Samsung within days. And he never used a smartphone before. This says a lot about ease of use.
