Thanks for you quick answer ! I did try with Magisk but once it boot up, it says on Magisk app that i am not root yet. So i download the last zip file available on the app and flash it into Recovery. And that's where i have an issue. Either it bootloop or it gets stuck at " Android is starting / Optimizing app " and i can't figure out why !

Which version of TWRP are you using? I've seen some issues with 3.2.1 so maybe get 3.1.1 and try that?

Version 10.0 hangs at 30% saying "using architecture: arm64 30%" .

Clean flash. SuperSU works just fine.

According to OP "If using magisk, for some reason the dalvik cache doesn't build on first boot. I have added a script that will reboot you soon as a boot is completed if your dalvik-cache isn't built."

Using Magisk it gets stuck at 30% and nothing happens.

for how long? does version 10 fully install if I wait?

EDIT: after trying again and again, with chainfireSU the installation has reached 100% complete..

I just restarted after the 30%. Left for 20 minutes. First boot really laggy. Second everything works fine.

yes. the 30% is just stuck at busybox installation.
rest of the rom installs fine
the team is currently working on a fix.

I wiped all except data and microsd and everything worked just fine. Not sure why there are problems for some. I also left all the options for removal alone and chose not to config CSC. Chose Android 8.1 emojis and google text options but that was pretty much it.

Phone booted fine, I left it a while, root is present and I disabled heaps of apps using Package Disabler and the phone is working perfectly.

As I mentioned earlier, I think for a change of base, doing a dirty flash isn't a good idea.

Can you check which version of TWRP?

TWRP version 3.2.1-0.
After getting stuck at 30%, I manually restarted my S8. First boot was laggy but everything is fine now. Running Renovate Ice 10.0 and latest Magisk.
Not sure why the script that should have reboot my phone did not work.

As I mentioned earlier, I think for a change of base, doing a dirty flash isn't a good idea.

Also, please don't take this the wrong way, but if you dirty flashed and had problems the FIRST thing you should do is clean flash and see if the problem is still there, particularly on a rebase of the ROM.

I'd wipe all but Data and see how it goes. If you have an issue, simply do a clean flash and then, once the phone is working fine, go back to TWRP and Restore Data ONLY.

You DO make a backup to MicroSD in TWRP before you do ROM flash don't you?

Dirty Flash over 9.3 without any Problems, the only things i recognized till now is that the colour Change of the Alarm symbol doesn't work for me.

Besides of that everything works perfect

How did you remove gapps? As I understand, this rom comes with gapps integrated, not like other custom roms with separate gapps package (in case you want to install). Did you manage completely clean it from google?

@mwilky May I ask you to add an option in Rice Tweaks to patch generic.kl to replace 703 WINK with something like DVR ?
I removed all Bixby related stuff so the button is useless, I manually change generic.kl 703 WINK to 703 DVR to use it with Button Mapper.
