Weather on Wi-Fi or data my drain has been excellent. About 1% every 4 hours. Sometimes less.

I don't really know, but at weekend, when I usually stay at home, battery is amazingly perfect! No idea how and why, but 10% gives me 1hour on screen time.
But at work I can't even reach 3hours SOT. And off screen drain so huge...

I don't understand what's going on with the battery, yesterday from having drain overnight of about 2%, it consumed 30% now:

Screenshot_20180331-003808_Settings.jpg Screenshot_20180331-093307_Settings.jpg

Percentages of everything is the same, it seems there's something hidden and draining battery, but I didn't change anything.

So weird...

Screens from last night.....My config, GPS off, WiFi on during sleep on Charging, WiFi power saving mode, sync off

I would recommend you guys to clear cache from recovery of not already done and check if your phone goes to deep sleep as well...

I just upgraded from S8 to S9+
Battery life is the same.
I used Samsungs "Smart Switch" app, so my battery "always sleep" and "unmonitored" settings transferred too. Thus I'm seeing a the same background app behavior.

Another night's standby drain.... Location on but sync off... Keep WiFi on option set to While Charging

It's being consistent during last two days or so....

After much complaining from me, I am starting to get very good battery life. I'm currently on 47% after 25+ hours since I last charged it. I have AOD off, WiFi and Bluetooth are always on (although background scanning is disabled) and I have the phone set to medium battery saver at all times.

Stats on the picture.

0.4% an hour standby drain on my S9+ Exynos. I didn't do any fancy optimizing besides disabling the VR packages. Wifi on, GPS on, syncing on etc.

After doing factory reset and installing the latest update, my draining overnight has decreased from 3%-4% to 2%-3%.

Maybe ~1% difference doesn't seem much, but is huge taking in mind that drain was reduced in ~30%.

Even when using the phone, it drains a little bit less.

:)

I suddenly see Wifi having the highest share on drain. Not sure why this is happening. Any idea people?

In the first couple weeks or so the battery would only drop a few percent overnight. Now it could drop over 15%. There are no battery consuming apps I can find. Any ideas?

install better battery stats (with correspondding adb commands) and look for kernel wakelocks (nothing to do about it, except disable some functions like wifi), and also partial wakelocks (more related to apps). It could be anything, from bad cell reception, a router waking your device via wifi (once had that with my S3) after some update (of your router or your device), to a malicious app, or some sync going mad (for example samsung account ... disabled id on my device, cause it seems it would backup 2Gb of data at night ... and knowing samsung they could well hide that from battery usage graphs)

good luck, I thing we are all right now searching for what is eating battery at night for now

I faced the same situation, the first 2 weeks battery was perfect and then from one day to another, it started to drain 30% overnight with no change in settings or apps.

I had to factory reset and now everything is cool again; I hope I don't have to do this again in 2 weeks.

I'm thinking do the same. Did you think it's worth it? I'm complaining about terrible battery life on S8, so if the s9P is the same, maybe I should go to Huawei P20Pro.

After Android Pie, I'm getting worst results. Even if i barely touch the phone, I'm getting stand drain.
Android system is always above 10% off battery eater. Already cleaned cache, rebooted.. And I'm not in mood for factory reset.

So don't complain if you are not in the mood for a factory reset, which is almost a "must" when you upgrade to major Android releases.

I updated, did factory reset and my standby consumption increased nicely; right now I'm doing around 4%-5% consumption overnight with everything enabled and activated.

Of course battery degradation comes into play, because have had my phone for a year now, because I got it last year in pre-release time.

I greatly encourage you to do a factory reset and wait a couple of days for the phone to settle.

    ;)

After giving the phone a few days to settle in, I charge it fully before bed, then let it sit for 9 hours. Only lost 5%. With AOD on, lost 11% after about 8 1/2 hours. By far the best standby performance I've ever seen on a phone.

Disable Secure Folder from Samsung helps big battery improvement!

After I charged 100% it was closed with WiFi connection open. I checked the phone after 3h and a half and was 99% battery left. In this case under 0.33%/hour in idle

In the first 3 charging cycles the consumption will be increased until the phone will learn the consumption modes.

Samsung LG and apple are known for kind of cheating at the top 100%. What's the idle drain like if it's at like 50%?

Mine last night was fantastic. Was wifi, bluetooth was on, AOD disabled. SD845 chip here.

Started at 31% and got up and was 27% say with it being not used for 7 1/2 hours give or take a little.
