Battery icons and xmls are in framework-res.apk

Decompile with apktool & edit as you wish
Recompile
Put in a flashable zip & flash in cwm with system mounted

You need to be rooted & deodexed (most custom roms already are)

Before starting make sure you make a nandroid backup

Take framework-res.apk from your rom zip
Decompile it with apktool (guide in my signature)
Change the battery icons in res/ldpi

Note your new battery icons must have the same file names as the old ones

Also note if you are replacing battery icons that count down in 1% intervals your rom must have the 1% battery mod
If not see my guide in signature for 1% battery mod and implement that as well

Once done recompile
Put in a flashable zip
Flash in cwm with system mounted
