Dont buy UMI Touch
The MI Touch is a piece of junk. Dont buy it. I say this after my own purchase and 2month trial and observing similar experoences of others wasting their money on a Touch.
The first thing that makes the device unusable is the 'Touch'screen ( ironic eh !) The lower section of the screen does`nt register letters typed from a keyborad. Extremely frustrating and off putting.
Next, all Touch`s I`ve seen have the return button placed askew in its housing. It not only looks cheap, its diconcerting...and amazing that the factory QA would let it pass. Apparently, the Touch`s successor the Super, has the power button placed askew.
The bezel is not consistent and has a wider margin left compared to right.
The Touch, like UMI Super, does`nt have NFC.
No use reporting the failures to UMI. Their agent JoJo simply fails to comprehend the complaint and refers you to the reseller. Very poor service where evidently, the failure is with design, manufacture and quality assurance.
Dont buy a UMI Touch.

Camera samples:

TWRP 3.0.2 by jemmini

Stagefright vulnerability:
No, tested at 17/4 2016 with v3.03-20160409

AnTuTu 6.0.1 score:

Androbench Storage benchmark:
SEQ Read: 211 MB/s (that is fast)

Multitouch points:
5 points supported

Youtube app:
Can play videos in 1080p FHD

Gyroscope sensor: No reaction in sensorbox
Orientation sensor: No reaction in sensorbox
Accelerometer sensor: Yes, will work in games when you tilt the device

OTA Update released:
v3.03-20160409 (fixes the camera a bit, optimizes the fingerprint scanner, changes 21MP to 13MP in the settings).

Similar design?
Many say that the UMI Touch look like the Meizu M3 note or Meizu MX5. What do you think?

Other ROMS?
UMI have posted some pictures of the UMI Touch running Windows phone 10, but so far only pictures.
So until we see a real rom this is still unconfirmed.

How is the gaming performance?:
I would say in the middle, average. Not super but also not totally bad.

In theory this UMI Touch could be a great phone. I just received mine and bought it out of curiosity.

The screen on mine is perfectly fine and the bottom of the screen registers input, maybe because I have a phone from a later batch. Everything works except for the GPS and Wifi. The GPS will lock on if set to device only, without wifi and data to improve GPS location. I also entered engineer mode and fiddled with the GPS settings to improve performance.
Even worse, the wifi range is complete crap. I can be a foot away from the router and still not receive a strong signal on 2.4ghz and 5ghz connections. 3G/4G reception is also lacking, but works alright in high-reception areas (I havent yet had a dropped call).

Had this phone for about 3 months and here are the main negatives:
White dot in the top centre of the screen. Tbh it wasn't a big problem and you didn't really notice it in normal use.
GPS hopeless. You could just about live with your character in Pokemon Go running and teleporting all over the place but trying to use it as a satnav in the car, no chance.
Camera, very low quality pictures. I've never managed to get anything resembling a nice clear picture as I've seen in other peoples reviews or adverts. The focus is hopeless as well, you think you've got it focused, press the button and it goes out of focus. No macro setting so could not get a good close up of anything.
Wifi is quite poor, there's a bathroom between me and the router but I often lose connectivity.
Touch sensitivity was average, you'd have to press the same icon twice to get it to work 1 in 10 times.
And now what for me killed it, literally. The screen cannot survive a small drop. My son knocked it off a low table and thought he caught it in time but the corner hit the ground and despite having a silicone case and screen protector, the screen cracked. I've seen people's phones still working with shattered screens but you can't use the Umi Touch with any cracks as the touch sensor becomes inoperable and random numbers and letters start appearing when you press a key . I could change the screen and digitiser for €34 but I'd be throwing good money after bad, best avoid this phone.
My son also dropped a Vernee Thor whilst on the toilet with similar results, third time lucky?
