Before I upgraded it from Kitkat to Lollipop I thought latest updates could fix the many Lollipop issues reported in this forum. I was wrong! Not to mention as of today, 17 Oct 2015, the Lollipop can’t be rooted.

Returning the tablet back to seller (Amazon UK) should be easy but I think the tablet itself is brilliant and I DO want to keep it. I fell in love with it when I started use it with KitKat.

So I searched and found the factory firmware A10-70F_S000021_150501_ROW (credit Ondigo at XDA Developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/gene...6/post62449690)

Original WORKING download link: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resi...thint=file%2c7...

Mirror: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz5...ew?usp=sharing

Step 1,
Download the factory firmware, links above. Extract.

Step 2,
Download Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP Flash Tool) here and extract.
http://androidxda.com/smart-phone-flash-tool

Step 3,
Install http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html (Windows)

Step 4,
Backup your files on the tablet, music, video, photos etc

Step 5,
Power off the tablet and run flash_tool.exe in the extracted SP flash tool folder. Select the MT6752_Android_scatter.txt file. The flash tool will start to checksum and ready to flash. There are 3 options: Download only, Format all + Download, Firmware Update and Download Only. As this is a downgrade, therefore I selected Format all + Download and it worked like a charm. Click the Download button with a green down arrow.
Edited on 23 Jan 2016. Use Download Only, or you will lose your Wi-Fi config file maybe others as well

Please note, It didn’t do anything when I clicked the Download button and I went out answering a phone call. When I came back still nothing (or finished?). I thought I might have bricked the table But as soon as I press the power button, the flash started.

When it finishes, disconnect the USB cable and power on the table.

There was another update afterwards. The latest Kitkat version is A10-70F_20150626 (A10-70F_S000022_150626_ROW).

DO NOT UPGRADE to A10-70F_S000118_150710_ROW which is Lollipop!

Step 6, Rooting. Your warranty may be void. Do it at your own risk. But you can always roll back to Kitkat can’t you?
Go to www.kingroot.net on the tablet. Download the app and install it. It will root KitKat but not Lollipop.

Hope it helps some users like me who love the tablet but hate the buggy Lollipop

Worked great thanks for the great write-up and tutorial. Only thing to note that works is after clicking on the "download button" in flash tool, THEN plug in the tablet which is turned off already, the computer instantly connects and the program runs.

Lets hope they release a fix for the buggy lollipop. The WIFI issues in lollipop were interfering too much so I had to step back to KitKat using this tutorial.

Is the current lollipop firmware (latest patch from lenovo) really buggy? I ask this because I heard in a few youtube reviews that they have released a few updates to the android 5.0 lollipop to fix bugs. In its current state what sort of bugs are in the lollipop firmware that would make someone want to downgrade to the outdated kitkat OS? I am considering buying this tablet but want to cover all my bases before I take the plunge. I do not want a tablet that runs kitkat or or needs kitkat due to buggy version of lollipop

NVRAM formatted
Does anyone have a NVRAM backup from 4.4 Kitkat? The tutorial said "format + download" - and after that my tablet works without serialnumber/Wifi-NVRAM-Warning 0x10 ....

regards, Andy

said "format + download" - and after that my tablet works without serialnumber/Wifi-NVRAM-Warning 0x10 ...

PS
i have the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L instead of F,but i found the firmware here http://firmwarefile.com/lenovo-a10-70l

BUT
i got the same prob..i got it back to the store i bought, they said that they fixed it,but instead the installed the 5.0.1 again, and i have the wifi nvram err 0x10,and invalid IMEI..The IMEI problem i fixed it,from the engineering menu.
I know what to do with the nvram as well..
but what shall we do?Send it back to lenovo?
Or downgrade again to 4.4.4 and fix all the problems by myself?

AT LAST! An update (stability/bug fixes) to my ridiculously buggy Lolly just popped in -
A10-70F_S000120_150907_ROW_TO_A10-70F_S00121_151222_ROW
...just completed, and although nervous, no problems so far...!

From the Lenovo forums yesterday. I'm still afraid to update to lollipop though.

Hm, difficult to judge.
I am fine with 120 ... running 5GHz WLAN.
