Does it reboot after flashing X partitions, or does it reboot after X seconds of work ?.
It reboots imediatly after second black screen which i think is partition "recovery.gz" backup, im asuming this as this was the last partition it gets too during full backup. hope this is helpfull :)
EDIT: after doing a full wipe and flashing a new ROM: [5.1][N910F Unofficial AICP. Android Ice Cold Project][ 12 April] , I proceeded to try full backup once again and all went super smooth. Full backup in about 90 seconds. I feel the problems before may have had something to do with the ROM I was on (SuperFastRom). All is great now, backed up and recovery went smooth.

Many thanks :)

I can't seem to replicate the external storage error so far. Those of you seeing the error, does it happen every single time, or only sometimes?

Root could not be acquired Dialog, on my S2 (with lollipop) and on my S Plus (KitKat). Root is definitely available.

Motorola moto g xt1032 5.0.2 stock rom backup/recovery to USB works only when StickMount is installed although moto g supports USB otg natively without any additional apps.

Beta is not working on my nexus 9. ID backup does nothing at all, and partition backup ends up in a bootloop (stays in boot screen for well over an hour).

Thank you chainfire for your awesome work :)

First, I want to thank chainfire, for all those wonderful contributions to our community.

Second, I have troubles in using Mobile Odin Pro and/or FlashFire for updating my Samsung Galaxy Note3 with stock FOTA update.zip....

Device is kept as stock as possible...
Model: SM-N9005
AP: N9005XXUENB7
CP: N9005XXUENB1
CSC: N9005DBTENB2
with...
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-636608 dpi@SWDD5614 #1 Thu Feb 27 19:59:01 KST 2014
Build number: KOT49H.N9005XXUENB7
SE for Android status: Enforcing SEPF_SM-N9005_4.4.2_0013
Security software version: MDF v1.0 Release 2
rooted on/by...
Recovery: stock
Method: towelroot v3 - app by geohot
App: SuperSu Pro V2.46 - app by chainfire
And finally ODIN MODE reads...
PRODUCT NAME: SM-N9005
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Offical
SYSTEM STATUS: Offical
REACTIVATION LOCK(KK): OFF
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S2, T2, R2, A3, P2
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable

Problem: FOTA (update.zip see below) does break around 20-30% (maybe anybody got a hint where to learn about those fragmented booting/updating processes signed/unsigned android seems to use?)
So I thought using Mobile Odin Pro for updating first, manually. It did not work, complaining about zip-file has not to contain partitioning and following unzip sugesstion does break back to main menu, also manual unzip of file fails... Looking around I found FlashFire... After wondering why it complains SuperSu was not there or older than V2.40 and finding out that it is unable to see SuperSu unless it is enabled (more strange non *xish or bsdlike behavior), it crashes on behalf adding the update.zip (logcat in catlog.txt format below although verbose logged seems no use, unless further code knowledge maybe).

Aim: Updating as far as possible, while keeping as stock as possible with knox 0x0, with mobile odin or flashfire, as many times reported positive using odin and older kernel version and towelroot, just want to stay 'untethered'!

Any help/explanations appreciated and thanked for in advance...

update.zip and logs on fileconvoy...

I just installed it from playstore. But, all I've done with it is backed up my current ROM. I am realizing it isn't going to do what I thought it would, which was allow me to flash custom kernels with my locked bootloader. I'm guessing that will never happen with this device. So, I think I'm looking into getting a one plus one or wait for one plus 2.

FlashFire is the most advanced on-device firmware flasher available for rooted Android devices. It can flash full firmware packages from various manufacturers, as well as apply over-the-air (OTA) and ZIP updates - all while maintaining root, and without using a custom recovery. It also offers full device backup and restore functionalities in several formats. Relevant files can be stored on internal storage, SD cards, USB connected storage, or can even be streamed directly to and from your computer using USB or Wi-Fi.

FlashFire is the spiritual successor to the Mobile ODIN app, which was a similar solution (using completely different methods under the hood) exclusively for Samsung devices on older Android versions.

FlashFire is an extremely powerful application, it should be used with caution. Data loss, soft-bricks, and even hard-bricks are possible if used incorrectly. Unless you are an expert user, consult FlashFire's website and this thread before doing anything potentially destructive.

If the FlashFire user interface crashes, please attach the logs of the crash to your post. The SysLog app can help.

If you are experiencing an issue while FlashFire is flashing, please post FlashFire's log file to pastebin, and include the link in your post. The log file can be found at /sdcard/FlashFire/lastlog on your device.

    FlashFire's website/manual can be found at http://flashfire.chainfire.eu/.

Note: currently all functionality is unlocked without purchasing Pro. This may change in the future!
