Hi guys.
As many of you know, the Android N preview was released earlier today, but not for the Nexus 5. This was extremely disappointing for many people, so here is my idea: I want to get a team of people who have experience in porting either Android L or Android M and have them start working on porting over the N preview to our device ASAP. Although I don't have any experience in this, I will be available to help as much as possible and will test anything that the team might need. If you are interested in doing this, please respond and get other people to help

Is it possible to make an unofficial OTA zip that we can sideload? (When final N is pushed to AOSP, of course).

Probably yes. This is what happened to Nexus 4. They got Android M within the first couple of days by doing exactly what you described.

Some experienced developer should do this.

Honestly, I'd gladly pay for it. As many here would too, I think.

Dude chill. Samsung Galaxy S is running Marshmallow through Custom ROMs.
...and this was a device that launch with Android 2.1 Eclair.
Android N will be here before you know it

I take that as they have just been testing it internally. Which could mean that if the testing doesn't live up to their performance standards, they could decide on not updating the Nexus 5. We could still get the final build but I don't think we will get official previews.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Google released the Android N Developer Preview for 64-bit Nexus devices. So, in that case a port will be far from possible because of the 64 bit libraries!
