Is it possible to do this method without display
I do not get any display when I try to boot or try to go to fastboot (with the power and down volume button) or recovery...just the vibration and some weird kind of flickering on the screen.
I want to send it for replacement but I am afraid that the unlocked rooted phone will be rejected in warranty terms.
I am all messed up.

Is there anything i can do?

If you can't access the bootloader, then neither will they. You'll get your replacement.

Latest official OTA update bricked my phone ?
Hi,

I face a major issue with the last OTA update applied on my nexus 5 this week end.

That update was downloaded and installed automatically on the phone and i didn't ask for it.
I didn't have the time to backup my phone data nor the text messages before it was applied

Worse: i'm stucked in a bootloop with the google bootloader animation and some messages saying the update is being installed !

I followed the instructions to boot in recovery mode and i saw the following error message multiple times :

Quote:

E:failed to mount / cache (Invalid argument)
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:failed to mount / cache (Invalid argument)
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:failed to mount / cache (Invalid argument)
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_install
E:failed to mount / cache (Invalid argument)

My phone runs with a stock official rom, unrooted and with locked bootloader.
I know there was no official OTA release this week end, but I didn't care about updates on that device before.
In recovery it now displays 'KOT49H' which i assume is a stock 4.4.2 KOT49H version.
So i guess i had a previous version installed...

Do i have any chance to restore my phone and get my data back ? (ie without a factory reset)
For example, can i flash a stock image without wiping my data ?

Edit: sorry if my message is duplicated on other threads but i thought i might get more answers that way

Thanks for your help.

You could try flashing the factory image as outlined in the second method. Just don't flash the userdata.img

Edit, just saw your bootloader is locked. That's a big problem. You'll have to unlock and that will wipe your device.

That'll unlock the bootloader but it will wipe your entire device
