I'm trying to get back into this after playing with MultiROM a couple of years ago. I remember it being so easy before but I'm struggling now. Flashing a stock Android ROM doesn't work and flashing a Lineage OS ROM doesn't work with the errors I've posted above. Should those work?

I believe, been a long time since I messed with it, that it is an issue with the updater script of the roms. Try searching the thread for the answers.

Captain_throwback was nice enough to create a test build for us which seems to work for me: it is buried in this thread. At this point though, I would advise looking hard at EFIdroid instead as support for this project appears to be gone. As soon as a significant change happens it is likely multiROM will cease to function.

ERROR: 7
I everyone. Just try to install Dark Rom 7 on the latest MultiROM v33 and Recovery 2016-02-10 (0) (down&install via PlayStore), but i got this issue:
E1001: Failed to update system image
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7

I read in this thread a post that suggests to try remove a string in the updater-script, i try follow the "instruction" in the post (without pc, i do everything on smartphone), but i got this issue:
Failed to find entry /META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script in ZIP file /sdcard/rom/bla bla bla
Need help, thanks in advice

EDIT: i'm quite a noob, please be patience

Because it is not easy to find latest parts of MultiRom i made a summarize. If there are newer then i found, please tell me. If there is anyone who knows a lineageos14.1 or / and aosp - kernel with kexec, please tell me also. Maybe someone can compile a new kernel for us. Are there guys out there who knows how to add updates to the app?

MultiROM on Nexus 5 - scenario & few questions
Some of this may sound outdated but bear with me. I've got a new NEXUS 5 and I am hoping to make the most of it.

Objective: Use MultiROM to setup at least THREE different "environments" - Main, Secure, Sandbox.

ROM #1 - Main:
- OS: Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 STOCK
- Default boot ROM
- Rooted to run root apps (Tasker, AdAway, various linux/Android hacks etc.)
- Regular apps (Firefox, Signal, DroidWall, Orbot etc.)

ROM #2 - Secure:
- OS: Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 STOCK or CopperheadOS (if I can get the ROM for Nexus 5)
- Un-Rooted
- Bank apps
- Android Pay
- any other secure apps that require Un-Rooted

ROM#3 - Sandbox:
- OS: Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 STOCK
- try out any new apps
- Rooted or Un-Rooted. Depends on what apps I want to try out
- plan to re-flash stock ROM after try-outs

Questions:
1. Can I use MultiROM to make this happen? i.e. where ROM#1 & ROM#3 are rooted and ROM#2 is not rooted. All ROMs will be installed with *nothing* shared.

2. I want to encrypt my phone (full disk encryption), and I plan to do so after flashing ROM#1/Main but BEFORE installing MultiROM. I read that FDE should be done only in the primary ROM and *not* in any other ROM. Is this how it should be done? Are there any gotchas?

3. I plan to setup MultiROM by installing the app. Is that OK? Or should I manually apply the kernel patch, modified TWRP and MultiROM?

4. If my ROM#2 is Un-Rooted, would there be any issues in getting Android Pay to work? Has anybody got Android Pay to work in a non-primary ROM, although it is un-rooted?

5. On the xda-developers thread, there are several "versions" of MultiROM for NEXUS 5. Earliest is from "Tasssadar" on 15th Dec, 2013 and latest is from "lulli1" on 18th July, 2017. I don't crave on using the latest & greatest (my current adventure with NEXUS 5 is strong evidence) and as long as it is functional, I am OK. Having said that, would the MultiROM app or individual files for manual install from "Tasssadar" be sufficient for my purposes?

Thanks for your answers/suggestions in advance.

I always used the manual way, but since you are using 6.0.1 STOCK, you should be able to use the app for the right kernel.
Never the less I would recommend using the following:
MultiROM-TWRP
MultiROM.zip
Multirom.apk

Never used android pay, but i read that if you are rooted with magisk, you can use the "hide" function to pass safetynet etc.

Hope it helps
Cheers
