i am stuck on boot as well. edited everything and compiled. i even tried changing the file's permissions before replacing it but no. bootloop

You insert original signature back? (Meta-inf folder and AndroidManifest.xml)

got it booting. i have attached the compiled file

But after all there's no point because ambient display won't work as it's not designed for LCD displays like the one in our n5 and would only cause massive battery drain.. unfortunately

Theres also some stuff in systemui that needs to be changed as well.


Also how did you get it to boot.

put meta-inf and the manifest from the original folder to build folder and then before replacing the file in system/framework i changed the permissions to rw-r-r. that's what i did and it booted

apktool b framework-res

apktool b needs to point to the folder not the file.

BTW i finally got it to work.
