Amazon Fire Toolbox V7.1
╚══════════════╝

Introduction:
Android is known for its customization and freedom, however, companies like Amazon try their best to lock your devices down and present a limited amount of functionality, and often bloat them with useless stuff. Have you ever wished you could remove Amazon from the picture completely, install the Google Play Store, sideload apps, reboot to recovery or download mode, remove all lockscreen ads, change the lockscreen wallpaper, replace Alexa with Google Assistant, and so much more all with the click of a button? Well, this tool is designed with these things in mind and aims to provide its users will full control over their devices.

This tool is essential for every Fire Tablet owner. With a clickable UI, and lightning-fast performance you can return the power into your hands. So, what are we waiting for? Let's get started!

Compatibility:
  • Amazon Fire 10 (2019).
  • Amazon Fire 7 (2019).
  • Amazon Fire 8 (2018).
  • Amazon Fire 10 (2017).
  • Amazon Fire 8 (2017).
  • Amazon Fire 7 (2017).
  • Amazon Fire HD8 (2016).
  • Amazon Fire HD10 (2015)
  • Amazon Fire HD8 (2015).
  • Amazon Fire HD7 (2015).
  • Amazon Fire HD7 (2014).
  • Amazon Fire HD6 (2014).

Getting Started:
Getting the Toolbox up and running with your tablet is surprisingly a very easy procedure. The only thing required is for you to enable Developer Options and ADB on your tablet. So, without further ado, let's get started.

At this point, please read the section below (follow the correct guide that is made for your tablet) on how to set up the device so it works with the Toolbox.

FIRE HD 8 (2018)/FIRE HD 7, 10 (2019) Guide:
  1. Turn on your tablet and go to Settings > Device Options > About Fire Tablet and tap on the Serial Number until you unlock Developer Options.
  2. Press the back button and find the new Developer Options and toggle it on.
  3. Scroll down till you find USB Debugging and enable it.
  4. Download the latest version of the Toolbox from the Downloads section of this page and install it onto your PC.
  5. *Plug your tablet into your computer and allow Windows to install the necessary drivers (if you haven't done so already).
    * If you are on Windows 8.1 or below the drivers for "Fire" WILL FAIL. This is normal and is to be expected.
  6. Open the Toolbox and wait for it to setup the environment and start ADB (It may appear that the Toolbox is frozen, just please give it a second).
  7. If you are on Windows 8.1 or below the Toolbox will inform you that additional driver setup is required and will ask for your permission to download and install the required drivers. Click the "Yes" button, wait for the download to finish and follow the driver setup. If this for some reason doesn't work, please follow this guide to manually install the drivers.
  8. At this point, If drivers are setup properly... the Toolbox will inform you that the "device isn't authorized. Please authorize your device now."
  9. On your tablet, you should see a new prompt asking if you want to Allow USB Debugging and should show the computer's RSA key fingerprint. Tick the box that says "Always allow from the computer" and hit ok.

That's it, the Toolbox should recognize your tablet and will take you to the main menu. Enjoy!

These links were taken down (only versions 6.3-6.4 were affected) because they contained versions of the Toolbox that were infected by a virus slipping its way into the installer as it was being compiled from my infected machine. Please read the following below for further details:

To cut a long story short, unbeknownst to me I obtained a virus on my PC and didn't realize it.

When I started compiling the Toolbox the virus was slipping into the setup as I was compiling it. The Toolbox began to be flagged by Microsoft Windows Defender and various other AVs. I had no idea what was going on and just assumed it was because of the button injection (which in itself wouldn't surprise me if that was the actual cause). Batch toolbox V6.4 was released, more virus issues, then V6.5 was released and again... more issues with the Toolbox's installer. It wasn't until someone contacted me and asked if I had a virus on my PC and if it was slipping into the setup. I began to think about it and finally realized the reason my PC was acting up could be because of a virus on my machine.

To test this theory I recompiled the Toolbox on a separate computer and it wasn't being marked. It was clean. As a result, I reinstalled Windows on my PC and ever since we haven't had any issues with Windows Defender, and VirusTotal was happy with the clean files and was showing no detections.

I just hope all of this doesn't come off as people believing that I did all of this on purpose. I would never even consider for a second distributing a virus over XDA or using Bitbucket as a distribution site. You all are wonderful people and so are the folks over at Bitbucket. I deeply apologize for any issues this may have caused and hopefully we can put all of this behind us...

Frequently Asked Questions:

» I don't see my tablet listed in the supported devices, how can I request support to be added?
For the requested tablet to be supported, we need a little more information from you in order to add support. Please download this .zip file, extract the folder within the zip to the desktop, and run the Identify.bat (make sure your tablet is plugged into the PC) file to get the code name of the device. Once the code name is found by the tool, press any key to copy it to the clipboard. Now reply to the forum with the code name, and the tablet's complete name. See the example below for reference:
Code:
Tablet: Amazon Fire HD8 (2018)
Device's codename: karnak
» The Toolbox keeps crashing and I don't know why!
Before posting on the forum please make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your tablet and that your device shows up when typing adb devices. Please also check to make sure your PC's language is set to English, US. If your PC isn't set to English the Toolbox WILL NOT work and will continually crash. If you need help changing your language please refer to this guide.
» How can I run the Toolbox on Linux?
As of now the Toolbox will not run on Linux natively. However, the Toolbox is being completely re-written in Visual Basic and will hopefully be able to be ran on Linux in the near future. At the moment, the best way to run the Toolbox on Linux is to use Virtualbox and emulate Windows.
» Will this tool root my tablet?
Unfortunately, the Toolbox is not yet capable of rooting any of the supported devices. There are plans to include root methods for a few select tablets but will take some time before they are ready.
» Why is the Toolbox being marked as a virus?
If you come across a version of the Toolbox that is being marked as a virus please do NOT install it as it could contain a virus. Please see this post for further details.
» Where did the Changelog go?
Due to the changelog's length it has been given its own post entirely. You can find it here.
» I found a bug/issue in the Toolbox, how do I report it?
You may leave a post on this forum. Please include the error/issue and possible ways to replicate it. If you aren't sure what is happening and the Toolbox is crashing without an apparent reason please open a TBShell and disable Force Close (command is: /nfc). Then re-open the Toolbox and if the error persists copy down the error information and paste it as a post here on the forum. Make sure to also include what tablet you have and what tool the error is coming from and I will do my best to fix it

This tool is designed to install Automate, push Amazon Lockscreen Ads Remover V4.5 to tablet, and install all permissions required to run the script. Now, to get it all set up and working you need to enter Automate and open the settings. From here you are looking for an option that's titled "Run on system startup" make sure you enable this option. Now, for installing the adblocker you can import it into Automate (Flow is found on your internal storage or sdcard) Or you can download the script from the automate community. Refer to this forum if you need assistance (skip steps 1-5 because they have already been done automatically by the toolbox). Sorry I can't write up a detailed post, I'm at a family gathering at the moment. Just let me know if you need further assistance.

Great tool! However, after "removing everything Amazon", it seems to have also removed parental controls which screws up some things. I get "the requested action is not permitted. Check parental controls settings and retry" when I try to download offline translation functionality in Google Translate. When I go to the the tablets settings>parental controls, it won't open. Also seems to not allow install of Amazon related apps like kindle and prime video.

It's kind of annoying right? So, whats happening is Its coded to remove Parental Controls but I've just discovered it isn't able to because Parental Controls is a Device Administrator which you can't uninstall even with ADB without deactivating it first. As a result, I will update the tool so it doesn't remove anything related to parental controls until we can find a way to disable it. However, chances are kind of slim. I don't think its possible without root but we will see. I'm also thinking about a restore option for the "Remove Everything Amazon" tool that returns the amazon system apps so you don't have to do a factory reset.
