Now that you have your unlock code go to about phone in settings and click the build number until it tells you that you are a developer. Then go back once and select developer options and look for usb debugging and turn it on.

Enable Developer settings by going to Settings > about phone and click build number until it says you are a developer.
Once that is done go back to the main settings and go to developer settings and enable OEM unlock.

I am going to assume you have adb and fastboot installed on your computer, but if not go to this thread to install it.

Hello Barath , perhaps you can help me with this. I am unable to get past the first step , when I try to get a Huwaei I'd , they ask me for a Chinese phone number. How exactly do I unlock the bootloader , step by step. It seems that Huwaei has made it harder , for those who are not in China to get the unlock code. If there is a place , that is not a scam to pay for it , I would gladly do so. I have rooted many phones , usually Samsung's , I bought this Honor 5 because they have a lineage 15 for it and the phone was cheap and had good reviews , I cannot stand the stock OS , it takes forever , to just make a call , or do anything. Please help.

You should then be able to log in using your phone number OR your email. Just type in your email address and your password to proceed.
adjust time zone in setting, but this setting some time reset for no reason, so i just dont bother
