I open my m8 and replaced the battery with a new one then the problem start :
the compass sensor is not working anymore
I try everything about software but it's 100% a hardware problem... I think I broke the sensor or heat it up or something

my magnetic sensor is working fine
and my rotate screen is working fine
but compass sensor is no action and not working

please if someone now where is the part on the motherboard just to check it and find out what is the problem because I don't know where is the area to check or which part is the compass sensor

if someone have a picture or diagram I will be thankful

I think the compass is related to the gps
does your gps works ( make sure that u are in " device only " in location settings
I also had the same problem with the gps
its a little connector close to the power button
it should touch with a white square in the case
this thread helped me alot

thanx for responding but until now the problem not fixed
and i will be crazy... my mind cant hold that problem anymore... i can't find where is the problem but this is the observation :
1_ my screen rotation is ok
2_my magnetic sensor is ok.. the dot view flip cover work fine
3_the gps is giving where you are at the point BUT not following the signal when you moving and its stay where it gives at first time

To be sure that the GPS antenna is the problem
First go to setting > Location > Set mode to " DEVICE ONLY " so it doesn't use cellular or wifi network
Download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ultitool&hl=en
Go to GPS section
Make sure that you are outside " with a clear connection to the sky
If u got data and something is moving on the app then there is no problem with the GPS
IF not u gotta open your phone and fix the antenna

If the compass is not related to the gps then i dont think you can fix it, because it would be a microchip with a broken connection
it could be a software problem with your custom rom tho
