Return to stock from Venom 6.0 - best method?

My wife says she's having some bother with her M8 and I want to return it to stock 6.0 before updating to the latest Venom rom. Its been a couple of years since I've worked on the M8, and I've never gone back to stock from Venom. What is the best method to use?

Returning to stock may not be completely necessary (although it's an option), if the intent is to install the latest Viper ROM.

Need more info. Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).

Namely, the firmware (hboot, radio, etc.) may need to be updated before the latest Viper will work properly.
