Huawei MediaPad T1 S8-701u/S8-701w bootloder unlock TWRP recovery ROOT

Hi everyone i need some help or advice.
I try
1) This process will install factory unlocked ROM with just basic testing apps you will loose your curent ROM( we will return it on step 3)
and after that my s8-701w is dead, nothing is happening.
Only thing i got is Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in device manager.
I read it that it can be saved with Qfil or eMMC_DL_Tool but i dont have prog_emmc_firehose_8936.mbn and xml files.
Is it possible extract these files from update.app or something similar to try to revive tablet again?
I try to extract with ext4_unpacker_exe and HuaweiUpdateExtractor_0.9.9.5 but with no luck.
Or maybe someone can send mi these files if have the same tablet?

Hi all,

please can anyone really help, i bricked my tablet and managed to restore it back to original firmware. I also managed to unlock bootloader. i do want to root the phone but i want to do it va recovery using twrp or cmw. i bought the tablet for my son and already tried kingroot, it worked ok, but i would rather have supersu and twrp or cmw, feels more clean.
please can anyone help with a twrp or cmw that works for this tablet i have the eu version bought in Hungary (t1 s8-701w)

There is complete stoppage of 3G network in my tablet,It caches only EDGE GSM network with 2g internet.
HOW to bring it back to 3G.

I do everything from the tutorial and my Huawei Mediapad T1 8.0 s8-701u working. But I can't use data connection. What I have to do. I installed the last ROM - International?

Its just like i have searched all over the web. I am pretty sure that there is no custom rom for this device.

I am a noob in porting rom but i think that porting any rom also wont work.

If there is any reason plzzzzz share it.

Hi I might be of some help as I can give you the stock recovery (only one that worked for me) from my backup as last time I bricked I could not find this image anywhere on the net. This is for hauwei mediapad T series. Hope this willhelp.

hi! I am trying to download twrp from the links in the first post (dev-host) and I keep getting 'The connection was reset'....
I tried different browsers and OS's to no avail....
Any chance someone can upload the file (recovery2.img) somewhere?

Hi!
This is for Huawei Mediapad T1 S8-701w/u aka Mediapad T1 Honor.
As we all know this device has LOCKED bootloader and it is not rootable (only russsia firmware for s8-701u is)!
I am not responsible for bricks so procede at your own risk!
Read whole process before you begin.

First backup everything including internal SDcard!

1) This process will install factory unlocked ROM with just basic testing apps you will loose your curent ROM( we will return it on step 3)

Extract and copy dload folder do root of your removable sdcard (external sdcard)​

Power off device​

Hold volume down and turn on device​

Wait till install process is done and device is booted again​

2) Install custom TWRP recovery

Connect device to computer (ADB, fastboot needed and drivers installed)​

Download recovery.img from http://d-h.st/saW and copy to same folder with adb and fastboot​

Type:

adb reboot bootloader

Once you are in bootloader (huawei logo) :​

fasboot flash recovery recovery2.img

When done reboot (hold power button) or:​

fastboot reboot

3) Now lets recover our original ROM:

Download rom for your device ( 701u or 701w)​

Extract UPDATE.app from firmware​

Download Huawei extractor (windows tool)​

Open UPDATE.app with Huawei update extractor and extract SYSTEM.img and CUST.img (right click on images)​

Copy SYSTEM.img and CUST.img to your fastboot folder​

Reboot to bootloader​

adb reboot bootloader

Once you are in bootloader (huawei logo) :​

fasboot flash system SYSTEM.img
fasboot flash cust CUST.img

Turn device off and boot to recovery (hold vol down and turn on)​

In recovery: Factory reset (format /data) and reboot.​

Done!!

If you get stuck in bootloder unable to boot in recovery:
flash and boot into stock recovery to clear bootloder flag
then you can flash TWRP again Here it is:http://d-h.st/in71 (stock recovery)

fastboot flash recovery stockrecovery.img

To ROOT flash http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu in recovery

Recovery: newest TWRP http://d-h.st/saW
BUGS:
Internal sdcard is mounted to /data/media, while on device /storage/emulated so use external SDcard.
Also because of wrong mounts when you do wipe it will delete everything on internal SDcard (only /data/media will stay)
TOUCH dont work when booted: just wait till screen off timeout (10s), then press power to turn screen on it will work now

Hi i have s8-701w stuck on logo i have try to flash ur file 1 step but some how i can not able to flash when i press volume - key nothing happened tablet restart and stuck on logo.is there any way i first fix stuck on logo problem?

I found and tested the Chinese version, which I removed some "bloatware" through the Root Browser Classic (free) program. I live in Europe. I've replaced AppCenter with Google Play. So far, everything is fine.

Amap, AppCenter, Browser, Email (I do not need, I use Gmail), Exchange Services, Google Pinyin, HiCare, My Email, QQBrowser, WPS Office.

Hey, I'm wondering if you can link me the best firmware and twrp, I really don't wanna brick my tablet accidentally, also how does yours work? Does it still lag after what you've done? Mine lags badly and can't install most apps so I need to tweak build.prop
