Stuck in TWRP

Search This thread
I have (had) the 8.5.1 version Kindle Fire HD 8.9. I had successfully rooted with Kingroot and successfully flashed TWRP using the instructions here. I then tried to flash CM 12.1 from the instructions here, and it failed to flash. I tried to start over and did a wipe, and me being dumb, didn't make a ROM back up. So now I am stuck in a TWRP boot loop...as in it's the only thing that boots. I AM able to get into fastboot. I don't have any backups. So I am wondering if I can use this tool to restore? Or am I dead in the water?

Well now I have another issue. I was stuck in a loop that wouldn't stay turned off. So I had to take the back off and disconnect the battery. I reconnected it and it did work, but one of the wires disconnected in the process and I haven't been able to get it to turn back on after reconnecting it. Is there a certain order I have to use when reconnecting the wire?
