Not sure what to do here, but I am running TWRP 2.6.3.1 and FFF 1.4a (might be 1.5 not entirely sure). TWRP thinks there is no OS installed and I cannot seem to boot up as a result. If I reboot and let it try and boot normally it gets to the default amazon 'Kindle Fire' where 'Fire' is orange, but does not continue past that. I can get into TWRP but cannot install an OS. Any help is very much appreciated.

what happens when you connect to pc and select
in TWRP mount>check sd card>mount usb

It won't let me check sdcard

Storage says sdcard (0 MB)

Update: was able to use Windows to reformat the sdcard and now can mount it.
Update 2: Windows views it as a removable disk and adb devices does not recognize any device

try formating sd card

Did that. Now Windows views it as a removable disk.

Update: adb devices gives my kindle in recovery. Trying to install an update.zip file (Fire OS 6.3.3 downloaded directly from amazon) gives:

"Installing /sdcard/update.zip
Checking for MD5 file
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/update.zip'
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/update.zip
updating partition details"

I can mount it, so I put the update.zip onto the root, but it won't flash.

I have a copy of the update.zip that I decompressed, would it be possible to put some of those files on the kindle to make sure it flashed?

How can I install it? I have the file but can't seem to find a way to put it on and use it. Cannot get into fastboot mode with this:

Installed perfectly. Booted up to stock 6.3.3 perfectly.

Amazing work.

Thank you so much, thought I was going to be stuck with a paperweight!
